  • The double standard is apalling/
WSU's "good" wins aren't good enough.
When Indiana is at 500, and so is Minnesota, they can lose to someone like Northwestern at 6-13, and that is NOT a bad loss.

It is all set up for the Power conferences to hog most of the spots.
Many years, these power conferences get 8 teams in and after the first weekend only have 2 or 3 left.

Even Pie is startting to wake up to this obvious set-up.

I've said it before and I will say it again, we don't get no respect.
Rodney Dangerfield was lucky compared to us.

No matter what we do, it just isn't quite good enough in comparison to the big schools.

Never mind our track record for the last decade, we just don't measure up.

Pie said there is no "national conspirancy. To quote Uncle Joe, "C'mon man."
The Power conferences control the NCAA, always have.
When it looked like they were starting to lose control, they threatened to leave and form their own group.
Well, that scared the bejesus out of the NCAA, so it is back to business as normal again.

    Same thing happens with violations.
Anybody care to bet that nothing big happens to KU or Arizona?
If WSU was ON TAPE taling about "I paid good money for that kid, $100,000, where is he?"
We would get the death sentence.

Nothing will happen to KU or Arizona, or only a slap on the wrist for major violations way beyone anything WSU has ever done.

The same applies to the torunament. The Indianas, Marylands, Kentuckys, Rutgers, Penn States, who clearly do NOT deserve to be in will get in.

If WSU gets in, it will be by the skin of our teeth.

I just get tired of something so obviously fixed in the big school's favor.

But now all of you can explain to me that I am just an unwitting troglodyte.
    Have at it.

      • The P5 schools and the Big East can put more viewers on their games. Ability to sell advertising is more important than the ability to win games.

The NCAA's ability to attract viewers is going to be researched by networks bidding on the games. Those bidders will have done research and I expect that research gets to the Selection Committee. The top teams for viewers (ad revenue) are always going to get in unless they are obviously so bad that no excuse can be made.

Past that, it's an effort to find a Cinderella that can drive views and ad $$. The NCAA tourney is based more on revenue than anything else.

          1. Western Kentucky @ Houston: If WKU wins this they most likely wrap up an at-large bid even if they don't win their tournament. Houston
          2. Ohio State @ Michigan State: Michigan State has slowly crept back into the bubble picture. A win over #4 OSU would get them squarely on the bubble. OSU
          3. Boise State @ SDSU: Huge two MWC games for these two. Boise State is currently projected as a 10 seed. SDSU
          4. Oregon @ Stanford: Big opportunity for Stanford. Currently one spot behind us as 1st 4 out. Oregon
          5. Northwestern @ Minnesota: Minnesota is one of the last two teams in. Upset would be nice. NU
Pretty good night for the Shox. Minnesota and Stanford losing is huge. Michigan State still has a tough road ahead but they have two top 5 wins in 3 days. Something about Izzo near March.

            Seton Hall right now :
            13-10
            NET 54
            3-6 Q1, 2-3 Q2, 7-1 Q3, 1-0 Q4 SOS 40
Best NET win: 39 Penn State
            Worst Loss: 130 Butler

            WSU right now
            11-4
            NET 67
            2-2 Q1, 2-2 Q2, 6-0 Q3, 1-0 Q4
            SOS 22
            Best NET win: 6 Houston
            Worst Loss: 62 Memphis
NCAA selection committee in the past is more impressed by raw numbers than %, e.g. they will be more impresses with 3 Q1 wins than 2-2 Q1 record that is better %.

            Advantage Seton Hall

            1. NET

            2. Seton Hall has 3 Q1 wins (away games at that), WSU only 2 (w/ one being home)

            3. Seton Hall has 5 Q1/Q2 wins versus 4 for WSU.

            4. Seton Hall plays in tougher conference (5th) vs the 7th for WSU. That is how they will rationalize their losses away.

            5. Seton Hall Net avg win is 102, WSU is 118 (plus WSU played 2 non-Div I teams for win instead of real opponents.)

            6. Seton hall has won more road game 6 vs WSU 4

            7. Seton hall has more Non-Conf wins against real teams. WSU choose to play 2 non-div I opponents.

            8. Seton hall will likely have more wins against NCAA tournament teams than WSU

            9. Seton Hall advance metrics are better than WSU.

            Advantage WSU
            1. Better Marque Win (Houiston at Home) vs UConn on road for Seton Hall

            2. Better SOS for WSU (28) vs 47

            3. Better NET loss for WSU (37) vs 56

            4. WSU has a better Q3 record 6-0 vs Seton Hall 7-1

            Uncertain at moment

            1. Record vs NCAA Tourny teams, WSU has 1 win, Seton Hall has 1 win, but could be more depending where u slot Xavier and Penn State (3-10 vs Q1, even the NCAA may be taken back by their raw number of losses, but then again we have seen NCAA look past it).

            • No team that is 8-12 like Penn St should be considered for a bid, IDGAS what their NET rating is.

                • Obviously we would like to see OSU upset #7 OU in Norman today. OSU 94 - OU 90 in OT

Missouri needs to hold serve at home against Texas A&M. Postponed

Ole Miss should win at Vanderbilt. I guess we want Ole Miss to win? Vandy 75 - Ole Miss 70

ORU needs to take care of Western Illinois at home. They are 10 point favorites. ORU 85 - WIU 81

Do we care who wins the Temple @ UCF game today? Cancelled

What bubble teams do we want to see lose today?

Ugh, what could have been. A win in that game and we’d be looking at an 8 seed right now

If you’re tired of college basketball and have no interest in the ESPN game coming up, turn to ABC CST. Landry Shamet and the Nets play at 7:30. Two of the big three are out, so Landry should get plenty of PT.
