  • Doesn’t really belong here, but a former shocker foe, Dana Altman, sure was fired up about Oregon’s shitty attendance for the NIT last night.

Called the fans and administration out on the rug.

      Lol yeah I saw that.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

      • Fred did quite a bit better.

        • Fred's postgame rant against a ref seems to have paid off. That ref is getting lower-level assignments from the NBA now.

In the wake of Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet's postgame tirade directed at NBA official Ben Taylor, the referee has reportedly been demoted in recent games he's worked.

Austin is still on his first NBA contract. Fred’s second contract was a 2-year $18M deal. So Austin getting $50M in 4 is in the same ballpark. That third contract becomes generational money.

I’m currently watching Lakers vs Suns and Reaves has 23 pts & 9 rbs. Shamet with 15 pts. The announcers have mentioned Wichita State about 5 times during the broadcast and talked about them being college teammates. We’ve really had some great players come through this program in the last decade.

            • You obviously know more NBA than I do, which I don't pay attention to except for Fred. His 4 year 85 Million was more, but I'll give it to you that Austin may pass him up.

              • Anyone who is not watching the NBA at this point is missing out. The "hero ball" stigma it had in the 90's and 00's is long gone. (Case in point: most of the "dream teams" that have been put together over the last decade have fizzled out without big results.) You'll see much of the same team ball you see in college, only at an elite level. Fun games to watch.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

I barely watch or pay attention to basketball, period, except for Wichita. I haven't watched a total NCAA Tourney, or NBA game yet, and am yet to be interested in it, maybe because Wichita isn't in the picture. IMO, it's just a less interesting sport to pay attention to, but glad you love it.

I agree with this. It's hard to get people over the old stigma of no defense and selfish play, etc. The NBA games is fun to watch from my perspective now. Lot's of story lines and good competitive basketball. Now, I am not saying the defense is stellar or on par with NCAA but it's also not as terrible as it has been in the past. The exception being the All Star Game.

                    • Main objective of the all star game, "do not get injured".

100% agree, i love watching the NBA, the league has made a great comeback the last 10 year or so. People try to rag on the NBA about there is no defense being played, but a major part of that is the rules in place that makes the spacing and a more wide open game like defensive 3 seconds and the 3 point line.

Would generally agree...watched the Suns/Magic in Phoenix lasr Thursday, and the ONLY disappointing thing was the nonstop Devin Booker(who I LOVE as a player)chirping at refs.... but quality? Oh, my...

                          • I got back into watching the NBA because you can generally turn on the TV on any given night and there's a game on. I can put it on in the background while I'm catching up with other things.

I also think the NBA announcers are some of the best in the business.

Talent level is ridiculous, I just would like longer possessions.
Wichita State, home of the All-Americans.
