Great article. I was really excited about Porter after seeing his highlights and he hasn’t disappointed. I know it’s not really fair to compare guys to legends like Ron Baker but that’s really what his game reminds me of. Porter might be more of a natural PG than Baker, Baker is bigger physically but they are both smart, athletic players who positively affect the game in every way possible. Really glad this guy is on our team this year and another two years after that.

I mean talk about a guy who just plays with his head up at all times. What a passer. His assists seem to reach teammates in near perfect rhythm to allow them to shoot or drive.

He’s also shown an ability to get to the rim and get a shot when we need it late in a shot clock. The drive down the left lane into a bank shot was something I saw a lot on his tape. He missed it this time but I think we’ll see that go in more often than not in his time here.

Yeah, I know, he’s only played two games, take it easy.

That shot was money and he made it look so easy. Love his demeanor.

CP2 is going to be a nice playa. I like our athleticism and the ability to drive and get buckets or create contact. We have lacked that with all of the hero ball and 3-point jackers the last couple of years.

Since all players are given an extra year of eligibility because of the virus, maybe Porter will play 3 years for the shocks. If that would happen he could play 3 years with C Jackson and Ricky C IV. That would increase his chances of graduating and provide stability at the point guard position. Just a thought. Go shocks.

Anyone (well most people) can see the clear difference in this team when he in on the bench. I honestly feel bad for him this year.
