Despite his physical limitations (strength wise) he was a willing defender.

He was a high IQ player who generally took care of the ball, made smart decisions, and would make a pass.

He could shoot the **** out of the ball.

Which one of those things doesn’t fit on Marshall team?
All of that is your opinion and perspective.

I bet I can tell you one thing he did that didn't fit with a Marshall team...

As a freshman: 10th in minutes / 7th in FG% (ahead of CF) / 1st 3pt% / 9th in rebounds (ahead of CF) and per minute ahead of L Shamet, D Smith, Z Brown / steals per minute ahead of LS / and 5th in blocks (ahead of LS, CF, ZB, RK, DS, and 1 fewer than MM).

As a sophomore: 5th in minutes / 6th in FG% (again ahead of CF) / 3rd in 3pt% / 4th in rebounds (tied with LS who played 300 minutes more) / Best among non-post players in blocks.

Finished here with a 2 to 1 A/TO best among non PGs.

Clearly, the guy who wants to air a former player's dirty laundry is the person who's correct here.

          • LOL Austin still has us divided. It should be fun when he comes to town.

            • Some of you sound like the guy that got dumped by the kinda hot chick who left you for another guy, and can't get over it. I can't remember a transfer that was obsessed over more than AR, even if most typically leave for playing time when he didn't.

I don't have anything against the guy, and if he likes his new home better, good for him. I hope we beat the breaks off an OU team that has one coming for them. But good Lord, we need the next game to hurry up and get here so AR doesn't continue to be debated ad nauseam.

              • My last post regards AR until post the Shockers' Dec 14th game against OU (a Shocker victory in my prognostications). IMO very unlikely any Shockernetter knows why AR left; but I am confident HC3G knows exactly why AR left and I pray that this learning experience for Marshall ensures the Shockers never lose another player of AR's ability to a transfer to another D1 MBB program.

Additionally, Lonnie Kruger appears to appreciate Austin as he leads the team in minutes played.

Edit - Apologies for the collapsed Table, I don't know why this happened. My take away is that AR is likely to light-up the Shockers this season.

None of us are sure which one it was that got him benched in favor of Frankenkamp late in the season. Changed the team's mo didn't it?

I'd take all of those other players over him.

They're hit with injuries harder than us. But, IUPUI???

                                IUPUI - 70
                                USF - 53
