      • Mark Berman has Memphis at #19, and Houston at #23. He said he considered WSU for the #25 spot but went with Liberty instead (WSU evicted from his ballot) https://www.roanoke.com/sports/colle...1784e048e.html

The only American team on Seth Davis ballot is Houston at #24.

        • College basketball rankings: Chaotic week brings big changes to Top 25 - FanSided Sports

          by Connor Muldowney

Can any college basketball teams win a road game? The new college basketball rankings sees a ton of changes to the Top 25 after a chaotic week.

"Week 11 of the college basketball season is in the books and chaos was on the menu as five top-10 teams lost, including a trio who lost twice.

The feel of the NCAA Tournament hit college basketball in Week 11 as there were upsets everywhere as well as three top-five teams losing two games. Just like the rest of the season, Week 11 was chaotic and should cause major shakeups in the college basketball rankings.

          Don’t believe me?

Just look at what Duke, Butler and Auburn did. The Blue Devils lost a couple of games to Clemson and Louisville, Butler lost to Seton Hall and DePaul and Auburn dropped to Florida and Alabama. It’s been a crazy week, but how will the newest rankings turn out?

          25. Wichita State Shockers (15-3)
Losing two games in a week in the American Athletic Conference will usually get you no consideration in the rankings, but Wichita State looked nearly unbeatable through the first three months of the year. Voters will give them the benefit of the doubt for a couple of losses at Temple and vs. Houston, giving them the No. 25 spot.

          19. Memphis Tigers (14-3)
Not having James Wiseman has been rough on Memphis as the Tigers are no longer the presumed dominant team from the AAC that we expected. They lost last week but bounced back with an 11-point win over Cincinnati.

          16. West Virginia Mountaineers (14-3)
One of the hottest teams in the country, West Virginia continued its upward trend to start the week with a blowout win over TCU. However, they struggled mightily at Kansas State to drop to 14-3 on the season. They still have plenty of potential but need to win those road games against mediocre teams...."

              11. West Virginia (14-3) — Didn’t expect a 16-point loss to Kansas State — and neither did Bob Huggins.

              21. Memphis (14-3) — Please re-think that paint job on your court, Tigers. Hideous.

              • Now 31 in the NET (approximately an 8 seed). We've put ourselves behind the 8-ball as far as seeding goes with these two losses. Gotta get wins later against Cincy and the bottom half of the American. These next three games are must-wins.

We are still 6-3 in Q1/Q2 games(1-1, 5-2) with no losses outside of that. All 3 losses could realistically end up Q1 and a couple of our wins could move to Q1 too (VCU/OU/OSU). Still have a solid resume with plenty of opportunities left.

                          • How times change. Can you even IMAGINE 2 losses in a week in the Valley? When we were top 10?

Which part didn't you understand? The buh or the bye?

                              • Yeah if we were in the Valley. We would have been drop forever and not even been seeded or talked about at all.
