RT was a excellent shooter in jucos. But PG need to make their free throws when the game is winding down. I was surprised he missed those 2 free throws because prior to that time he had not missed any of his attempts. I am seeing progress each game. Glad he finally went to the whole in the last game. I am hoping he turns the corner in the second half of season like so many jucos players we have had in the past.

It’s like hits in baseball. As they say in Moneyball, making solid contact is what should be measured. A PG can’t control whether the teamamte fumbles a beautiful pass or misses a wide open shot.

Assists, and by extension, assist to turnover ratio, are statistics with a lot of noise. I don't find either of them to be overly useful, though they can be sometimes applicable. I'm more concerned with how often a player turns the ball over and how does it compare with his ability to create his own shot or create good looks for others, even if they don't go in.

WuDrWu there is good logic in that. It just seems to be there is a cap on this team with SHJ running the point. He is not a player who will make others around him better or set up the team to play good team ball. I would think getting Torres or Burton to the point where they can run the show would be a priority. Then SHJ could be shifted to more of an iso 2 guard, which would maximize his contributions.

i have watched parts of a couple Memphis games. It crossed my mind that Lomax looked like a Shocker guard and would have thrived under our system more that at Memphis. Harris is exactly where he should be.

2 assists in 31 minutes doesn't sound good for PG @RickkyTorres, but that stat is misleading. I counted a total of 11 passes made by Torres that led to good shots for WSU, a team high, just unlucky the shots just missed.
