Sometimes it goes beyond statistics. SHJ is a JUCO basketball player. He does JUCO things, makes JUCO decisions. Other players are doing things that aren't being recorded statistically that add more value to the team.

So you want an answer? Burton at the 1. ES at the 2. DD at the 3. MM at the 4. And JE at the 5.

Is that answer not acceptable enough for you?
If ES and Burton already play 27 mpg each. You’re going to increase that to 35 each in order to pull SHJs minutes down to 20?

Some unsolicited support for your suggestion Fever -

My Shocker friend and I met some very nice, long time Purdue fans while attending the games. While discussing the play of Carsen Edwards and Matt Haarms (7'3" center from The Netherlands by way of Sunrise Academy) during the second half of the Davidson game a Purdue fan opined "given the talent on the Shocker bench, he felt the Shocker lineup and in-game play could be improved." The consensus reached among this small group (based on observing two games - lol) was to change the starting lineup to JB, ES, DD, MM, and JE; and establish rotational players off the bench (problematic due to the limited playing times) of RB, CM, RT and MU.

One of the Purdue fans was aware of TA play at WVU last year and stated in his opinion TA would be a strong and significant addition to the Shocker lineup.

        2) Teddy would help lessen minutes, which would be a good thing. But more so, he's the one guy that can go get his shot when the clock runs out, which is where a decent number of SHJ's bad shots originate.
This is the thing. While some may prefer other Shockers at the 1/2, the only option to increase minutes is Torres, who’s not yet ready, or to play Burton at the PG only, which means Chance Moore for 20 mpg at the 3. Right now, SHJ is better than Torres and Moore.

While Burton is good, he isn't prepared to run clock plays consistently. He is not a big enough threat to hit shots. While some of our fans don't like SHJ, he is enough of a threat to be getting respect from our opponents and their best defensive shot right now. At the top of their list is to scheme to take away MM and SHJ at this time.

Like it or not, SHJ will play a lot because he has to be accounted for by the opposition’s defense.

JB and RT can be ignored when they don’t have the ball. SHJ helps balance the floor and create spacing. Hopefully his efficiency will go up as the team gels.

          ... the bottom line.

Hoping Torres can become a factor before January. It's almost a "must."
