Shocks vs UAB Ticket Prices

Originally posted by shockmonsterIf the promoter only sells 8-9,000 (a strong number for a WSU event), IBA will look and sound like an empty tomb. Not good for a program who prides itself to compete with the best basketball programs.
What it really shows how bandwagon this fanbase is if things don't go the way some want it to. They expect IBA to be Koch. They expect tickets to be free. They expect Duke instead of UAB.
Pathetic, indeed.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

For the 100th time, WSU accepted an offer for a neutral court game in Wichita with $125,000 cash, first pick at seats for their fans, and quality opponent.
I puchased 10 tickets to support my team, how many did you buy?

WSU already has it's money. It worked with the promoter to give season ticket holders early access to a game that has nothing to do with the season ticket package and for all intensive purposes is "neutral". WSU gets a good RPI game and no return date out of it. It also gives opportunity and exposure to fans who normally can't see the team at sold-out Koch.
Would you have the same feelings if WSU played a neutral game against a decent opponent at the Sprint Center?Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

More importantly, the season and "the fever" hasn't started. Once the season starts people will start asking about the game. I wouldn't be worried one bit, at this point, if I were the event organizer.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

I am reluctant to buy tickets for this game. I was not impressed with IBA for the Tulsa game. The sounds were muffled even when the crowd was going strong and the band sounded weak, all unlike Koch Arena. I thought my tickets were OK for the Tulsa game (lower level at the southwest corner). While I may end up buying tickets I do not see any reason to encourage playing games at the IBA especially if the tickets are so much more expensive.

As I said before, I'd rather had this game as a H/H and part of the season ticket package as Creighton did for this year. Three years ago, UAB was a buy-in game at Koch and now it's a "special" game at Intrust. Sorry, I think the bar has been set too low and it will be even tougher to get teams to come to Koch, and not Intrust, now.

Last year the Koch arena game was a 120-ish game wasn't it? This year it's an 80-ish game isn't it? I don't know if either of those is accurate, but it's just what's popping off the top of my head. If I am wrong, shoot me. But if I am right, I LIKE THIS TREND!Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!
