No, KSU tickets were basically the same...some areas were more for KSU.

    • I did over the phone also and was able to get some really nice seats. I tried online first but the seats they assigned were not nearly as good as the ones I was able to pick over the phone. Cost was the same either way.

Everyone has a personal preferences where they prefer to sit so I would recommend buying over the phone. A lot more flexibility.

Only it is worse. You have to pay the scalpers from day one on any seats.

At least with the old fashioned scalpers, you only paid them because either the event was sold out and it was the only way to get tickets or to get much better seats.

I think I am going to take some time off and drive down to the arena this time. I just hate paying the scalpers so much.
What is going on right now is a presale. Practically every presale for any event or concert is 99.9% of the time internet only or internet and phone only. And again, you'll always pay convenience fees away from the box office. If you don't want to pay the convenience fees, go down to the box office on Saturday morning and have at it.

Select-a-seat is not a "scalper site". It's the ticket agency for the arena. EVERY ticket agency around the country now adds convenience fees to any purchase made AWAY from the box office window directly. EVERY one.

You are REALLY lucky that IBA doesn't have ticketmaster. Otherwise, you'd be paying $20 per seat in extra fees.

Again, like I stated earlier, you guys really don't understand how lucky we have it here with service fees.

And for the upteenth time, if you don't want to pay for convenience, take a sweet drive down to the box office to purchase tickets and then you don't have to b*tch about the way society does things, which in this case, charges for convenience.

I am going to add, and I hope I am not causing any problems, but I am speculating that when you call, if you want more tickets than the season tickets you currently have, that you will have no trouble buying as many as you want.

Take it for what it's worth. I am pretty sure I could have purchased 20 tickets if I wanted to....I did not.

85, the fee on line is the same on the phone. Not cheap. It was about $100 total for me.
Thanks for the info. I was able to crack the code for today and discovered about $8-$9 per seat in addition to the already ridiculous seat prices.

This who thing reeks of greed to me. I'm as big a Shocker fan as there is, but asking me to pony up another $700 to buy my 8 tickets at IBA just rubs me wrong. I'm going to, and I hope others do the same, boycott this game. WSU already has my $6000 and they aren't getting any more. Friggin' pisses me off!

I hear you on the prices. I too agree they are overpriced for the opponent. But again, this has nothing to do with WSU. This was an outside promoter who set up the game, prices, venue, etc. WSU, like any neutral party would in the situation, signed on the dotted line for it.

Remember, it was just last year, everyone complained that the Tulsa game WAS included in the season ticket package and seat choices were taken. Now, the opposite is occurring. Damned if you do, damned if you don't...

I do feel that the season ticket prices for the year should have been off set to counter this "neutral" but technically home game. At the very least, the prices should NOT have gone UP.

You get what you pay for.. :good:

If you went to a game at Koch and sat way down at center court, the price of $78/seat would have been a bargain if you added the ticket value with the SASO donation added in to account.

And just in case anyone didn't notice, you don't HAVE to pay $67/ticket. There are other options. I hope no one was expecting to pay $10 for front row, center court WSU basketball tickets..

That's not true. There are PLENTY of prime center court seats available. Considering we are now a full day into the presale, you should be lucky there were even those types of seats left. As you said, apparently, it's not selling well so far.

In general, the KSU tickets are less expensive than the WSU tickets. The base prices may have been more in some areas, but nearly half the tickets in the lower bowl for the KSU game were $28. Not so for the WSU game, where you can't get into the lower bowl under $47.

If the opponent would have had a bit more zing and we were coming off an NCAA Tournament berth, I could justify the prices. As it is now, the arena will probably come off as looking half-empty, a lot of grumpy people are going to stay home instead, and the game will end up being a full-blown neutral game, and then everyone will be happy to see that WSU will never be playing at IBA again. Because, everywhere is supposed to be Koch Arena, and if it's not, then forgetaboutit.

I called in about 5 minutes into the presale and section 103 is only available to IBA club ticket holders (which is fine with me). The best I could get in 116 was higher than row 20. I was getting 10 tickets together, so that limited it a little... I'm happy with what I got though, right next to section 103...close enough to center court.

I'd be curious to know what the lowest anyone got in section 116 was.

What if the game against UAB was in say Shreveport instead of Wichita, would you expect that in your home season ticket package? Of course not, well this is the same thing. It's a game put together by a promoter and it just happens to be in Wichita. WSU gets 100K to load up on a bus and drive 7 miles to get what will probably be a 51-100 rpi game. I guess having an extra game at Koch with Texas Southern would have been better?

I called at the same time and was told sect 116 lowest available was row R which is about 20 rows up.
                              I took 117 Row A (4 rows up)seat 1-4(closest to 116 center court) :yahoo:

Could they have set aside dedicated blocks of seats for each selection code so everyone has a shot at some premium seats if they call soon enough on their code designation?

I'm happy and btw the price worked out to be $78 each.
