What part of "this game is not associated with WSU" do you not understand?
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

    • If the promoter only sells 8-9,000 (a strong number for a WSU event), IBA will look and sound like an empty tomb. Not good for a program who prides itself to compete with the best basketball programs.

While the individual game prices appear to be a tad overpriced, again, they are right in line for prices at Koch if you included the SASO donations added in per ticket/per game.

What it really shows how bandwagon this fanbase is if things don't go the way some want it to. They expect IBA to be Koch. They expect tickets to be free. They expect Duke instead of UAB.

        Pathetic, indeed.

So are you saying if this does not go off well there is no impact on the WSU athletic department?

Maybe it's time for you to put on your big boy pants and stop bit$%ing.

For the 100th time, WSU accepted an offer for a neutral court game in Wichita with $125,000 cash, first pick at seats for their fans, and quality opponent.

I puchased 10 tickets to support my team, how many did you buy?

Not really. It doesn't look too well for the promoter of the event. It means it wasn't advertised or promoted well and it also means the price wasn't right for this particular opponent.

WSU already has it's money. It worked with the promoter to give season ticket holders early access to a game that has nothing to do with the season ticket package and for all intensive purposes is "neutral". WSU gets a good RPI game and no return date out of it. It also gives opportunity and exposure to fans who normally can't see the team at sold-out Koch.

Would you have the same feelings if WSU played a neutral game against a decent opponent at the Sprint Center?

              • Wichita IBA vs. Kansas City Sprint Center isn't the same for appearances especially if K-State gets close to selling Wichita IBA out for their game.

Take a little off the ticket prices, switch out UAB for West Virginia, and put the game on ESPN, and I think our game sells a bit better..

I'm not complaining, so quit your complaining. I just providing perspective of why some are not happy from my own conversations with different people (and don't frequency SN).

It is not a neutral court game. It is a home game being run by an outside promoter.

If I told you I bought 11, all VIP courtside - does that make me better than you?

All season ticket holders received a letter detailing the arrangement. If they don't know, I would be surprised.
Yes, but we get spammed to hell by WSU/SASO -- seriously my wife is so tired of junk mail, half of what we get goes into the trash without being opened.

More importantly, the season and "the fever" hasn't started. Once the season starts people will start asking about the game. I wouldn't be worried one bit, at this point, if I were the event organizer.

                        • I am reluctant to buy tickets for this game. I was not impressed with IBA for the Tulsa game. The sounds were muffled even when the crowd was going strong and the band sounded weak, all unlike Koch Arena. I thought my tickets were OK for the Tulsa game (lower level at the southwest corner). While I may end up buying tickets I do not see any reason to encourage playing games at the IBA especially if the tickets are so much more expensive.

SF, I'll take this a couple of steps further. Don't lower the price, play West Virginia, I don't care if it's on ESPN, have it in KC and there would have been no hesitation on my part about going to this game.

As I said before, I'd rather had this game as a H/H and part of the season ticket package as Creighton did for this year. Three years ago, UAB was a buy-in game at Koch and now it's a "special" game at Intrust. Sorry, I think the bar has been set too low and it will be even tougher to get teams to come to Koch, and not Intrust, now.

I just don't see how you think a future game, in a future season, at IBA has anything to do with how a specific 3rd party event organizer handles one game this season? I think a few people are just trying to pile on now that we have momentum and the fans are getting top 50 treatment (higher ticket prices but better schedule than last year).

Last year the Koch arena game was a 120-ish game wasn't it? This year it's an 80-ish game isn't it? I don't know if either of those is accurate, but it's just what's popping off the top of my head. If I am wrong, shoot me. But if I am right, I LIKE THIS TREND!

You would be better off playing this game at UAB this year, to get a return game next year? That seems like a better situation than having a 1 game in your hometown while leaving next year's scheduling options open?
