    Basketball marching band?

    Shocker Sound Machine is the new marching ensemble at WSU that will focus on styles and techniques from the traditional marching band as well as the contemporary DCI model. Shocker Sound Machine will perform at select Basketball games and special events.

      Is there some video example of what they’re talking about? A less stoic version of a marching band, I guess? A drumline but with more instruments?

      Sounds neat. Positive step for MBB atmosphere for sure.

        Hopefully they’ll do a good job of staying out of the way as far as knowing how/when to keep the crowd involved.

            They will perform at "select" basketball games.

            Does that mean like one or two a year? Or are they actually going to do this right and have them perform at most games other than the early season glorified exhibitions?

              They mentioned Blast! as one of the things they would incorporate elements of (probably minus the color guard). Here is Maleguena from Blast!, followed by the full production (highly recommended if you enjoy marching band, drum corps or performing arts in general).

                      Lord - at this pace they'll probably alter the name of the university before the season even starts. Haha.
