Moving away from Lunardi -- and if this belongs in an other thread somewhere, accept my apologies -- I thought it was interesting that Taylor Eldridge in his mailbag the other day suggested that if WSU takes care of business from here on out, especially at home, they could well be headed for a middling NIT seed like what Temple received last year.

Too bad West Virginia likely has no chance at any postseason play anywhere; it might be nice for the Shocks to get a bit of sweet revenge on them for conspiring with the NCAA to deny Teddy Allen this season on the court where he'd have made WSU at least an NIT lock, and most likely a bubble team for the NCAA.

    RPI
    9th - .5315 - MAC
    10th - .5191 - Ivy
    11th - .5054 - A10
    12th - .5049 - Southern
    13th - .5013 - MVC
    14th - .5010 - C-USA

Just barely hanging on to 13th, behind the MAC, Ivy and Southern conferences.

It's worse in KenPom where they are 16th, additionally behind the WAC, MWC and Sun Belt. They are closer to 17th than 15th.
Where's those chumps retire12 and birdseyeview at? Lookin' good Valley.

I don't care what their RPI or NET is. You have to actually WIN games. Going 3-9 in your league doesn't demonstrate winning.

And besides the RPI and NET numbers are meaningless. They've taken teams with RPI's in the 70's before for at-larges. It's all a farce.

Thank goodness we didn't choose to join the Mountain West!

ShockerFever It's either that or RPI, pick your poison.

    NET is garbage.

Oklahoma is 41st in NET, is 3-8 (Q1), 5-2 (Q2), 7-0 (Q3) and 0-0 (Q4). No bad losses and a couple good wins, should be in.

You have to include as many Big 12 teams in the tournament as possible to ensure the rest of the field has enough teams to beat in the first round.

OU doesn't belong - if they get in they might as well take every team from the Big 10, ACC, and SEC and say "piss on everyone else."

Sometimes I wish the big schools would just start their own little post season conference tourney and exclude all those non Power Conference schools that they couldn't beat on a neutral or away court anyway, just so I wouldn't feel compelled to watch. Then it would be just like football season, and I could change the channel or just turn it off. OU didn't belong last year (look at the result) and they certainly don't belong this year. Its not like anyone anywhere in the NCAA hierarchy has an ounce of INTEGRITY anyway.

The AAC reminds me of the MVC 10-15 years ago. There's likely to be some cannibalization as some of the mid-level teams are going to beat teams on the bubble. One significant difference is that the mid-level teams in the AAC get more respect than mid-level Valley teams used to get. Long-time established and respected programs get more of a benefit of the doubt than Valley teams ever got.

I was told Illinois State was going to dominate after we left. Then Loyola was going to swoop in and dominate after their Final Four run. lol

It is what it is, a cyclical mid-major conference.
