How many times did we have a rebound ripped from our hands? Matt lost one under the UMKC basket that turned into a "killer" 3 point play. I believe both Clemente and Ellis had a rebound stripped from them at crucial times.

Maybe at this point, coach should just say... Okay guys, no three pointers until we've made atleast two or three passes into the post on each possession. He's HAS do something to force the ball INSIDE more....

        From ESPN:

"The Kangaroos had a 42-31 rebounding advantage."

I used to play ball at lunch with guys at work who looked better than their big men.

From my vantage point in section 124 (corner of the floor behind UMKC), I think UMKC and their 1-3-1 zone just lulled us to sleep in the second half.

In the first half, PJ did not slash enough, Gal slashed too much (usually resulting in some type of turnover/steal/bad shot). Matt tried to be fairly agressive, but the team overall, had very little motion on offense throughout the game.

Defensively, I thought we might hold UMKC under 50 for the game based on our first half performance, but UMKC started picking up the pace, putting more motion in their offense, setting better picks for their outside shooters, and got very physical with us. The more motion they had, the better they shot.

Our biggest problem from what I saw is that our guard play does not create much motion, let alone scoring. Our big guys set some very lethargic picks (again not enough motion).

I've only seen one game live this year, but from what I saw, this is also the problem with Mantas. The shots he missed were largely wide open, uncontested shots. The one field goal he made was when he took it to the defender and scored with the guy in his face. Mantas, you need to be AGRESSIVE and create your shots. Same with Ramon, same with Aaron.

JT played pretty well. PJ got schooled by Blackwell.

I came home feeling like I had watched a Chiefs game. Tough defense, almost nonexistent offense, resulting in a fourth quarter collapse. Defense can't do it all....

This year will be challenging unless some players step up bigtime on offense. If not, we won't get a true taste of Gregg Marshall basketball for two more years, when he finaly has his type of players from top to bottom on the roster.

It is crystal clear why he recruited so many guards this year.

The Stutz family was at the game (and the pep rally), including Garrett. Too bad they had to see that, but at the same time, he must be salivating to get into a uniform with all the playing time he will be getting...

I'm pretty sure that stat is either totally bogus or totally backwards.

.... and our big guys were just a little bit smaller than theirs....

                    • Hell, Paul Miller had just as good, if not better numbers through his first nine games in his senior season than P.J. has and he didn't even come close to an NBA roster, really. P.J., wake up and smell the coffee, bro. WE NEED YOU!!!

Actually that's back-to-back offensive disasters to try to put behind us. Atlhough, tonight's second half was bad on both ends of the court.

How do you hold a team to 13 in one half and then give up 46 to them in the second half. And it wasn't exactly like UMKC was playing lights out.
As someone posted earlier, the Kangaroos just wanted it more.

Where do we go from here? We head home to face LSU and UAB. Not sure I really want to look forward to that right now.

                        :(

I'm hoping for a .500 season. However, if you look at the upcoming schedule it is definitely not out of the realm of possibility that this team, (counting our last two losses in a row), could go on a 7 game losing streak. No way we win against LSU and UAB, Drake is playing the best ball in the Valley at the moment, Illinois St is a push and at Bradley will be tough.

I'm embarassed about the Shox losing in front of our prized recruit. I'm hoping he doesn't regret signing with us. Stutz if you are reading this, it'll be okay. How does being named a full time starter as a Freshman sound to you. Start getting in shape now because we will be needing you to play a lot of minutes.

Not a really nice thing to say. It would be better to thank those that DID fight the weather to support our beloved Shox.

Here I am giving tips on how to be nice. lolololol

                            • A few transition baskets would help.

                              • Do three's with 29 seconds left on the shot clock count as transition baskets? I guess they have to go in for them to count for anything. Never mind.
