  • Official 2018 Coaching Changes Thread

I put it here instead of the NCAA forum because it seems like we associate all of the news with potential effects on our program.

As Shocker Mama said Stallings out at Pitt.

So, Cal State Northridge AD Brandon Martin fired Reggie Theus last night, and then Martin was fired today, school announced.

Marshall to Cal State Northridge, per a reliable source.

      Somebody had to do it.

True story. Heard a few years ago that there was some discussion about Theus coming here as an assistant. Might have been around 2011 or so. Never ultimately got serious but apparently 3G and Theus had a discussion.

SWOMO fans consider Greg Heiar a possible hire (not intended.) No clue if there’s actually something going on there or not.

Given MSU's overall financial problems, can they even afford to pay him more than he makes as an assistant at LSU?

Edit: Quick internet search says Heiar makes $300,000 at LSU, and Lusk was making $370,000. MSU athletic department is broke and have to buy out Lusk. If they can land Heiar, I'd be amazed.

Forbes is now up to $400,000. What's Dooley making?

I'm assuming we hear something on Kevin Ollie's tenure within the week. Tom Crean is on line 1, if he doesn't go to Pitt first.

New ESPN article - Why Marshall should consider Pitt.

      - Wichita State is still a MVC small mid-major school

      - Conference matters more than actual team quality

      - Pitt has chances for more quality losses

What are are you even talking about?? I read the ESPN insider article "Whom should Pitt Panthers hire to be their next coach?"
That article listed 16 possible coach's for the job and GM is not one of them. He is never mentioned in the article.

Did you just make this up??

Topshock Yes, this is made up, but you know ESPN would write it

If you listen to Dickie V it isn’t possible for UCONN to return to national prominence. That is until they get out of the crappy American Conference. Weak.

I would really love for Cinci, Houston, or WSU to take the NCAA title and shove all those comments back in the media's face.

That's odd. WSU got INTO national prominence while in the crappy Missouri Valley Conference.

The duke apologists on Espn Game day said Uconn doesn’t fit in the conference geographically. I think geography went out the window with sCUm in the big easy and West Virginia in the 12-2

          It’s simple for UCONN.

          1) Drop football
          2) Go Private
          3) Join Big East

If the Big East lets them slide on # 2, they can add WSU to and take the conference up to twelve teams :)

Georgia will not accept a bid, if offered, to play in the NIT after firing coach Mark Fox. A source close to the discussions told ESPN's Jeff Goodman that Thad Matta is scheduled to meet with school officials Monday.

I heard some of the UCONN not the same job out of the Big East talk on TV. Cincinnati, Wichita and Houston are figuring it out.
