Doesn't Marshall have kids coming to him now? Too many more years of Power 6 domination and recruiters will become irrelevant. :D ;)

That said, I have no idea if Braeuer is a good recruiter or not.
I do know this:
1) His dad was his high school coach and it was clear he was very well coached before he got here.
2) He has played under two completely different systems at the Division 1 level.
3) He played for two quite successful coaches (so the systems above are relevant and he has something to brag about when recruiting).
4) He is already familiar with the system of the current head coach, so he can begin assisting in practices immediately.
5) He is young enough to still hop on the court and assist our guards physically as well as technically.
All of this means that he has a deeper understanding of the X's and O's than most guys his age, and adds some assets that many assistants don't have. That's something that would get my attention as a head coach. I would prefer we scoop him up as an assistant before somebody else does.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

I'm going to imagine myself as a high school basketball player, then a HS/AAU coach for a moment.
I'm hearing from numerous schools and have no idea what any of the coaches are like personally. So I talk to my high school and/or AAU coach to see if he knows much about the staffs at those schools. For the most part I'm probably going to trust what I'm told.
Now, if I'm that high school or AAU coach I'm probably going to give a more favorable opinion on someone I've dealt with before and have some familiarity with how he's treated and coached former players.

Braeuer is the guy who picked up Marshall's system the quickest, and adapted his game to it without hesitation. Marshall called him an extra coach on the court.
He's raw on recruiting, but I'll bet the man can flat out coach and teach. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I understand, but unless something unforeseen and spectacular happens to Matt, he is in his mid 20s and cutting his teeth and a wide range of experience is only going to help him and he loves WSU with a passion not shared by many. If called home, I have every reason to believe he'll come running.
In a perfect WuDrWu world, Coach Marshall takes us to the promised land until he retires to his palatial estate at Flint Hills National (where they renamed the accommodations the Marshall Cabins) in about 2020 and we name the replacement choice, John Cooper (fresh off a sweet 16 run and COY at George Mason where he replaced a retiring Coach Larranaga in 2015) and John brings on Matt Braeuer as Associate Head Coach.
