And If Wardle were in Gregg's shoes, he would do what Marshall is doing and say "He'll No" we won't play you a H/H game. Wardle is exactly where Gregg was 10 years ago. He's a cocky SOB who believes in himself. He doesn't plan on being where he is now, in 5-10 years. Wardle doesn't expect Gregg to give him anything at this time anymore than Gregg expected "The Rug" to give him anything. However, right now, KU not playing us, makes them look weak. Now KSU is afraid, but they are below us, and we'd be doing them a favor.

If in the '90's KU's coach had said, "We need to schedule more teams that suck, like Wichita State", that coach would have been correct. If KU fans had said, "No way we're putting a team like that on the schedule" - that's not arrogance. That's a statement of obvious fact.
If Bradley ever gets a top-30 or top-40 type team and then we say, "We're too good to play them", then we'd be arrogant and elitist. Not wanting to play a H/H against a bottom tier MVC team is not arrogant or elitist. If they want to come here for a paycheck, they can get in line. Some day they might have a team good enough to get a buy game. Other than obvious warm up games, we're getting better teams than Bradley in here for a paycheck. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

No, I think most people would welcome Bradley on the schedule if and only if the Braves get their RPI to a consistent Top 100 level.
KU told Mark the same thing, that he needed to get RPI up...but when he finally did and ESPN offered a one-game showdown at AFH for the 2005-06 season, Mark was game but KU not only said no but EFF NO!78-65

While I understand Marshall, perhaps being put off by what happened against Bradley, he is a fighter. I remember Gregg fighting back when he was screwed. Wardle is fighting to vchange their culture and begin ning to win. It may not be exactly the same but Wardle was tired of getting his ass kicked and wanted his players not to quit. Wardle is a fighter and Gregg is also a fighter, and I for one like him that way.
