It was a good time, Gregg was in fine form. He's still fired up about the officals in the UConn game, poked some fun at the BCS conference teams we beat and even threw in a little jab at the U of South Carolina. Marty had some good stuff although I'm not sure about the "full featured women" comment. I thought the seniors did a good job with their speeches. One of the greatest phobias is public speaking but they all did well. It was a nice, feel good night.
Kennedy was not there because of baseball and that was unfortunate. I'm not sure if Dave D and Bob H were in attendance.
One suggestion to whoever. I would like to see all the players introduced one by one, by class, as they come up to the front to receive their player plaques. Then, after all have been introduced, start with the individual awards. Introducing the rest of the players after individual awards almost seems like an afterthought. I don't believe that was the intention but think it would be better to introduce them all up front.
Thanks for reminding me about the USC comment.
".......it's NOT Harvard".
That was beyond funny.
I was going to bring this up in a separate topic, but oh well.
Why was Mike Kennedy NOT in attendance last evening?

I know Mike was doing the baseball game. I also know that this was a very special season to Mike and Brian Patrotta (sp?) made sure to mention, more than once, that Mike was extremely disappointed to not be there.
Now, here's a little more of my question.
Did Mike really want to be at the dinner more than the baseball game? (I happen to think so, but I guess only Mike knows for sure)
Would that have pissed Coach S off a little? To have Mike choose basketball over baseball. We all know how well Coach M and Coach S get along.
Mike, or Mike's boss or contract, chooses basketball over baseball when the seasons overlap in February, March when Mike does basketball and Shane does baseball. But a game vs dinner is a bit different.

--------------------------------------- Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare: "We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said: "That's the definition of a stool sample."

It may also be a contractual matter, especially since he already missed more baseball games than usual due to covering the NIT run. He may not have had room to take any more games off to cover basketball events.
