In case you missed it, VCU fans feeling a little more comfortable about keeping Smart. Nice raise being worked on and I believe Smart's statements give them reason to think he will stay. I can't really remember what his statements have been, but whatever, it seems they gave VCU fans more hope than what WSU fans got out of Marshall's.

There might be good reason to believe that Smart will not go to North Carolina State. If you haven't kept up, the word has been, Marshall would, and perhaps is or has been, next in line. Since there was rumor of a Marshall/North Carolina State meeting yesterday, perhaps we should know shortly.

Just curious and maybe I have missed it, but why haven't we heard anything about a nice raise for GM. Certainly having a record breaking season is deserving of a raise and I would have expected it to come out before he starts interviewing for jobs.

Maybe it's been offered, but why would he sign anything if he's interested in leaving, especially if part of the offer is a larger buyout if he leaves, which I personally would expect.

But on the other hand I'm hearing about a current bidding war between North Carolina State and Missouri for Smart that will drive the price way past VCU ability to keep him.
