If 3 mil is indeed the offer I could see Marshall possibly taking that. It's a crap load of money. Still not a good job, but a LOT of money.

If true (with a massive asterisk), then it might be close to a done deal. I'd sure have to guess that's "unbelievable" to 3G.

Not that I'm personally to the point of wringing my hands of the situation. We have A LOT to offer, by any context, to a high-quality applicant base. We're probably a top 5 or 10 non-BCS program, objectively. There's any number of solid prospects who'd be falling over themselves to get into a conference room with ADES to talk about being the next guy at the helm of Shocker basketball. We'll be fine with or without 3G.

Sounds like she had to up her ante for Greg after Shaka.....

Now that Smart has removed himself from the NC State coaching position, there are few names in circulation. However, one of the names that is often discussed in the same sentence with the position is Gregg Marshall. Remember that I back Marshall, and I think that he was better than Shaka for the job in every situation

Wow things must be getting really desperate in Raleigh. The money is a no-brainer. I hope it's worth it for him because he'd be going into a place with a hard-to-work-with AD, a fanbase that thinks he's a JUCO level coach, and not to mention pathetic fan support, and possibly a career-dead end in 3 or 4 years.

It is an unbelievable offer money-wise and if true, I would be shocked if turned down.

But IMO, that is just a stupid level of money to anyone but a top tier coach. Of course he would take that, but do they really suck that bad that it takes 3 mil per to get a guy who hasn't won much on a national scale.

Absolutely. Gregg would be a fool to walk away from that kind of money and I don't think he is a fool. Of course, we don't know if that is a real number or not. I would have to happy for Gregg and Lynn if Gregg could secure that kind of a deal.
