The consensus of the fan base for what that is worth is Shaka is #1, Marshall a distant second, and Cronin (Cincinnati) a far more distant third...

Fans have been getting less and less enthusiastic about Marshall, but are praying Cronin is not hired. Fans want $3 million thrown at Smart if that's what it takes... FWIW.... :roll:

That's what I'm thinking. To be truthful, yesterday I thought they might surprise us and just go ahead with Marshall if he is agreeable. Dufo's input on the salary offer might be pretty close. Somewhat less than Smart's offer of around 2 million.

How much of a coaching search is based on the fanbase? I wonder. Because for less money you take 3G heads and shoulders over Smart. Dang! Let's hope they want to make a hire that the fans get excited about.

I think its apparent that WSU must find a way in the future(if not now) to bring its salary up to the big boy level if it ever wants to keep a coach or compete in the big leagues. Im not sure were capable of it. 8) :wsu_posters:

There was a rumor posted a few days ago, I believe it was on Thursday, that suggested GM signed a contract extension within the last 48 hours. I guess that turned out to be pure conjecture?
