I really appreciate honesty, but it might not exactly help recruiting. There will be a few recruits that might hesitate because they don't know how long he will be here. Of course most recruits know that there is no guarantee that the HC will be there at any school, except the elite schools and even there that's not absolute.

He just stated it would take something "unbelievable". Recruits should realize what that means.
It's a double-edged sword. If he lies about it and says he's staying FOREVER, makes the recruits and everyone happy, and then gets an offer he can't refuse, and it comes out that he lied about it, this place would torch him, present company included.
I like the carefully worded honesty approach.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

I think it's fairly believable that NCState would offer him around 1.5 mil. It's definitely believable that NCState is near Marshall's home, almost as believable that NCState is in the ACC.
Now, "unbelievable" would be a talent-loaded team at the top dropping 2-3 million on a guy who hasn't been to the NCAA tournament yet with the team he's coached for 4 years. The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.
