WSU-MSU Game Thread

I have no problem with the way Hatch plays on defense, except for maybe getting beat every now and then, which can happen to anyone. The problem I have with him is his lack of shooting on offense. He needs to shoot more than 1 or 2 times a game.

In the game last night there were 2, 3, or 4 times he had an open 3, but decided to pass up on the shot. Maybe he thought someone else had a better shot or it was too early in the shot clock. I would like to see him take at least 5 shots a game.

Tough assignment, though. Fired up Misery Sate, with a chance for their first MVC regular season title ever. Going in, I thought MSU by more than five, quite honestly.. but Kyles went unconscious. WSU just really blew it at home this year. What up with that?

You're absolutely right. Hatch needs to be more assertive on offense. I like his selectiveness on shots and wish it would rub off on a couple of our other players but he's a guy that can hit the open looks in the flow of the offense as well as make some things happen on the drive. I look for Hatch to have a good tournament. I really hope he gets more minutes than Toure at this point. Oh, and when he gets those minutes he needs to hang on to the ball.

I agree with taking every good shot within the flow of the offense, but he is not the type of player to make anything happen on the drive. Not sure where that statement comes from. It doesn't seem that he is in the right place and the right time like he has been in the past. He appears to draw that tough defensive assignment (ex: Weems). I hope the thought of his college career ending is an added motivator, and he comes out this week in "Navy Seal" mode and brings some toughness to this "soft" team. Win, lose or draw I will be there to cheer them on.
