Sadly, I think that is spot on. Stutz and EO have to somehow share 40 minutes next year. As of right now, that pair would both be fouled out in 25 min.

Just wanted to add my two cents as a Bears fan....
I'm not particularly thrilled with the way Weems and Creek were acting toward the end of the game, but I think it's being blown a little out of proportion. These are two guys who were recruited by BH, endured the 3-15 season of two years ago, and have been the heart and soul of the program for the past three years. They wanted it. BAD. Creek mentioned on twitter the other day that he'd never wanted something so bad in all his life. I know none of that excuses anything, but the emotion of the moment can and will catch up to you when you're consumed by that type of desire. But yes, to an extent, I wish it had been tempered a little bit.... especially since the we hope to be playing next Sunday...
As for the fans, I walked into JQH yesterday expecting to get pissed at a bunch of classless WSU fans, and that isn't what I got at all. The Shocker fans in attendance did nothing more than respectfully cheer on their team. By all accounts the vast majority were very pleasant to deal with. As with anything in life, 3% of people tend to ruin things for the rest of us.... so there were a few exceptions, just like there are on our side... In reading this board, I get the very same feeling. People like ShockerFever tend to try to mask their own inadequacies by constantly spewing hate, accusing good people of being meth-heads, and generally just making an a$$ of themselves, but by and large those people are the exception.
Anyway, it was a great game to watch and a good showing for the ESPN2 crowd. I'm not at all thrilled about the possibility of a third meeting, so rest assured I will be rooting for the Shox opponent in St. Louis in every round.
Aside from that, good luck! :D

There is only one way to salvage this disaster of a season. I take that back, Bradley's season was a disaster, ours is a disappointment. Nothing would please me more than to meet up with SMS in the Valley Championship Game in St. Lou and win the tourney punching our ticket to the NCAA's and sending them packing. This is a one-bid conference and I would love for the guys to act like Weems and the other chuckleheads after winning. Yeah, yeah, you got us in the regular season, but we got you when it counted.
Maybe it's just me, but I put more stock into NCAA appearances than a regular season championship banner.

A small group of us went to a Shocker game in Springfield several years ago and had nothing but a great experience with Bear's fans, before the game, during, and even after we won the game. Went to the Springfield Brewery after the game and as we were being seated, a Bear's fan came up, congratulated us on the win and said the first round was on him.
As for your assessment of Weems and Creekmore, perhaps some of that "level of desire" was what was missing for the Shocks early. Not saying they didn't care, weren't trying, and didn't want to win, but to what degree. Players, as everyone, have different personality traits and that's not saying some lack or have flaws....they're just different. We've seen that we our own players over the years.
And your right, that level of desire does not excuse the players' resulting actions, particularly when those actions may very well come back to bite them.

He did look disappointed in the last two minutes.
Weren't you too? 8)Above all, make the right call.

Originally posted by ABCShock Ref, what are your thoughts about the intentional foul on Blair?
A double Foul was the right call, as Creekmore forearmed Blair initially and then Blair retaliated. Randall did not see the first foul and responded to the second.
Randall's +1 call on Durley towards the end was weak too.
RR did not have a very good game. 8)Above all, make the right call.

Ye gads, when some people get down on a player they don't stop at anything. I, too, like Smith, but there is certainly no need, whatsoever, to trod on Hatch because some of you want Smith to get more playing time. Like Hatch every other player on this team, to include Ben, have gone several games in which their productivity has been missing.
Hatch and our other seniors are going to be tremendously missed next year when virtually all we have to replace them with are Stutz, EO, and a juco transfer?
Our incoming freshman class had better come ready to perform, immediately.

Originally posted by WuDrWuI didn't want to say it beforehand, but the 2 seed is by far the more attractive seed. I don't know who can beat us the way the tournament sets up, but watching this team, I have to think someone will. I really feel for the seniors.
Think SIU at Koch. I still have nightmares over that game."Prediction is very difficult, especially if it is about the future."

If anyone outside of the Valley was watching the end of that game yesterday, all of the good of the day was masqueraded by the low-major antics a couple Bear players were doing. Seriously, I would like to know outside observers' opinions of the games. I bet they thought Weems and Creekmore looked like Alabama A&M players winning their conference tourney. It just wreaked of low-major. The Bears players were probably on a mission yesterday. I give them credit for that, but they looked like a-holes doing it. Lots of shoving and crying (Sheer). I hope our players remember that sh*t come next weekend. You won't have the comfy confines of JQH Arena to help you out then.
As for your latter comments, stop whining. I've seen your board and even you on your board. Your crew calls plenty of names, uses plenty of stereoptypes, etc. So please don't play the hypocritical "whoa is me" card.. . It makes you look extremely weak. You're not gonna like stuff said on our board. I'm not gonna like stuff said on your board. Get the hell over it. Are you related to Sheer?
I would love to have seen your board if we had pulled off the comeback. I'm sure it would have been classy and respectful, etc. :ohno:
Don't be a hypocrite.
Go back and enjoy your first regular season title, as meaningless as it is.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.
