  • I actually like our side of the bracket in St. Louis. :wsu_posters:

    • Very disappointing. It seemed MSU was prepared to win, and we were prepared to wait and see what MSU did. Maybe the strategy would have worked, except that once we found out what they were doing, we didn't adjust.

I agree, DK made it look closer than it should have been. MSU deserved it today. We had the chance to win the title numerous times this season and couldn't get it done. Credit Coach Martin and his team.

        • At least we kept fighting to the bloody end. When Kyles started hitting shots, their fans started looking much more worried. I have to give Creekmore the award for seeking fan cheers. He missed way more throws than expected. However, Leonard hit big shots here in Wichita and today. Mallett is a Sr. thank goodness because that young man has serious game. I really hope we play them again at the Lew in the finals.

          • It would have taken a great 40 minutes to beat MSU today. They are a team that has taken on the personality of their coach. They are playing for history - the first ever MVC championship. They are a team of seniors. They were at home and they had a record crowd.

WSU on the other hand, talks about winning a championship, but they do not back it up with their play. Too many times with something on the line, WSU plays poorly. We are a show team. We look good on paper. We have depth, height, athleticism. But no toughness. We like to look pretty. But when we get on national tv or have a critical game, we fold.

After devasting losses at home, GM talks about kissing the top 25 goodbye. Are you serious? Why does a coach care about top 25. GM is about accomplishing things others haven't and looking good nationally. Of course he wants to win a regular season title, but his passionate goals are top 25, win at creighton, win at evansville and win the toruney champtionship. THose are things he wants for his legacy because those are things others before him have not done. MT won a regular season title, but MT did not win in STL, at creighton, etc. GM wants to do things others haven't.

Comparing the personalities of the two teams and the circumstances, MSU was going to win this game. But for an unbelievable effort from Kyles, the game was not close.

And again, the Bears is left out of the NCAA .

If they don't win the MVC postseason tournament, the NIT might NOT come calling. They have trimmed the fat, so the Shockers might be looking at a CBI home game (yikes) if St Louis doesn't pan out.
Way off base. Hope you feel better in the am.

I know that it is tough to beat a team 3 times, but from what I have seen of MSU this year in multiple games, I am not optimistic that the result would be different. They have numerous MSU games on Metro Sports in KC this year and the MSU announcers have said many times that MSUs achilles heal is the dribble drive penetration, which is something we suck at. Unless our team is prepared to do for an entire 40 minutes what we did in the final 9 minutes of this game, we have little chance....

                  • This team doesn't have the mental toughness to win in St Lou. It's beginning to look like Marshall's teams aren't tough enough. How could a team want it more than you when you were picked to win it, isn't that motivation enough. Mentally tough teams don't lose 4 games at home, when they could have put the conference away.

                    • The last time we won the Valley tournament was in 1987 and Eddie Fogler was the coach, if GM is all about doing what others have not then a good start would be win the tourney next week.
"First off, it was great to come here and play. It was a great atmosphere - an unbelievable home court. What great basketball fans in Wichita. This city has a lot to be proud of with fans like that." Coach Bobby Cremmins

Do you think the Shockers can beat CU, DU, ISU, ISU, EU, BU three times?

                          Wouldn't that be a 15 yard penalty?
Please gtfo with that ####. It's the last game of the year with a championship on the line. If your a male and Playing in this game I question your manhood if your NOT doing it.
Yes I am, and that is not allowed in football, so why here? Thanks for attacking me - a WSU fan.

                          Very sad on your part.
Ill let you slide because I know your not serious.

                          • At the end of the day number ten managed to hit the three... Again. He did it ict and he did it today when the shockers had just erased a msu lead. Looking forward to next week.

TM can be a very effective player, but he needs to let the game come to him... I think the game looks much different if he hadn't forced a bunch of stuff in either half.

                            • The Shocks can indeed beat them. However, in the 2 games we lost, we missed lots and lots of easy shots. Here in Wichita, we were missing throws. The 1st half today, we could not throw it in the ocean. However, we have depth, and if will quit fouling so much and get them in foul trouble for a change, we can absolutely beat them. We beat them 5 times in a row before they won these 2. The Bears are the MVC Camps and my hat is off to them for that. However, I will be totally shocked if they win the Lew or beat us 3 times in one Season.

I'm sure you're right - the teams at Winthrop weren't tough enough either.
