Not sure were LBS has been playing most of their games but their home park does not yield a lot of homeruns.
What we do know is that LBS will compete.
The next 10 games are going to tell us a lot about this Shocker team:
3 @ Long Beach State
2 @ Arizona
3 vs Washington State
2 @ Oral Roberts
In any case, the Shocks should be primed and ready to start the MVC schedule after this two week stretch.

If we can keep these stats up, we will be in good shape.
- • The Shockers are tied for seventh nationally in runs per game at 10.7 and fifth in scoring margin at +7.2.
• WSU is only giving up 3.5 runs per game which is 17th nationally.
Bad news is we haven't won a game at Long Beach State since '06. The first game will set the tone for the weekend. It will be interesting to see how the bullpen holds up, especially on friday night.

LBSU's 5-6 record is deceiving. They have played a brutal west coast schecdule so far...no gimmes at all on their early season slate. They are improved over last season and will be a top 50-75 team this year, with an outside shot at making a run in a Big West Conference that looks wide open at this point.
I will be happy with taking 2 out of 3 in this series. A sweep would be OUTSTANDING, but feeling entitled to that result may yield disappointment. LBS may not get swept at home by anyone this year.
As with any series, game 1 is so important. TK will not be the first really good pitcher the Dirtbags have seen this season. If he can find a groove early and let our offense utilize its speed in that enormous ballpark, we will be in fantastic shape. This is the kind of series where I am so glad we have a couple gazelles in the outfield like Hall and Jones. We'll need them.

R.I.P. Dirtbags/Shox annual series. It is a darn shame they can't continue the series. I said it before and I'll say it again. This has to make Gene cringe come scheduling time. Arkansas, Oklahoma, Long Beach, who else won't schedule us anymore?
Although I won't hold a grudge against Long Beach since it is purely economics for them.

LBSU only has 2 home runs, they don't get on base, don't steal well, and as a team have a .692 OPS. We should do well, if we keep playing well.
Ohhhhh I'm reeeeady"If you're not first, you're last"

On another note Arizona plays their first 26 games at home.
ORU struggling so far but they always seem to thump us.

EXCELLENT. Oregon is already decent, and George Horton is building a powerhouse in Eugene. The former Fullerton coach is doing big things up there.
