I found this to be most interesting:

Baseball may be his top sport, but Elam is also an outstanding basketball player and one of the state’s top golfers. In fact, last year the Tiger golf team qualified for the state tournament and at the same time the baseballers were qualifying for the state spring meet.

“And we’ve got all five guys on the golf team coming back this year,” said Elam. He averages 19 points, 9 rebounds and “7 or 8 assists and 4 steals” per game in basketball….

Sounds like a couple of our other coaches need to take a look at Elam, including HCGM.

Add Kris Gardner LHP 6'5" mid 80's fastball with a great change.

He was but Arens is by far and away the best catcher in the league. The all city voting is flawed and the score keepers for the lower city league teams really don't know what is going on and give hits on any ball put in play.

Top three catchers in Kansas this year will be coming out of the Wichita area. Arens, Lassley, and Myers from Goddard. If you wanted, you could throw Coughenour and Chadd in as the next best two.

Like basketball, the baseball class in Kansas this year is kind of thin. Probably because we had so many excellent seniors last year. Look to the sophomore group for in-state recruiting.

Levi Meyer from Goddard is going to an Iowa Juco. Can't remember the name, but a very high level program.

Jordon Jenkins from Derby is a player to watch. Strong arm, plays 3b and the middle infield. Also a great pitcher with a mid 80s fastball. Great with the bat batted almost 400 last year.
