Very admirable performance by the bullpen today against a good hitting team.

If Heuer and Evans performances were not so bad, there might be a different feeling about this team. But I suppose if it wasn't them sucking it would be somebody else.

Meh. The defense and 0% offensive execution have been at least as much at fault. I'd say it has been a well-rounded failure. Honestly the bullpen has probably been the most effective part of the equation this week.

Before the ISUr game there was a very brief flicker of hope that was quickly extinguished. It is probably best this way though. Butler is DOA next year now and we can all begin looking to the future. I just can't imagine a scenario where we flip the switch and steam roll the AAC.

I wish that was right, but if we can't afford $900k to buy him out what makes you think we can afford $600k??

I was born in 1979, started regularly attending Shocker baseball games in 1987. Last year was the worst baseball I had ever seen and unfortunately this year really wasn't any better. There are very few bright spots for the future and it's obvious we are not going to pay Butler to leave. Guess I'll come back in three years when the program gets a clean slate and starts over.

AVG of 51 wins per season for 36 seasons. NEVER a losing season. Not good enough to finish a historic career and transition in a properly dignified (and also strategically smart) way? No! Time for "a new direction" that is now a four season AVG of 26 wins per season. A new direction, yes.
