Shocks mixing things up today, going with two 1B and no 3B. Must be some new kind of shift specifically for the Hawkeyes.

It's a bold move, Cotton, let's see if it pays off.

Well......seems a little like yesterday with another small zone. Shocks had a mildly productive first inning until a DP ended a promising start.

Zang started ball, ball, ball, ball, ball, ball, ball before finally throwing a couple strikes. Next guy went ball, ball until he let Daniel off the hook by grounding out.

19 pitches but at least no damage. No score top 2.

Iowa pitcher made adjustments and threw mostly strikes in inning 2 and got a quick 1.2.3 inning.

Daniel appears to have made no adjustments, and it's another lead off walk.

Then a swinging bunt that Camden made a good play on but the runner just beat it out. Zang goes 2-0 and it's a mound visit.

Kind of the way things are going for us now. Going to have to battle big time, and probably get a little lucky, to keep this thing scoreless.

Just another ****ed up zone today.

HBP and they're loaded after Iowa gave us an out.

I know the competition is good, but Iowa after Brecht they're just a good solid team. Yeah, they might win the B1G but the B1G sucks ass.

We learned nothing from yesterday. Could be that we overplayed emotion in game 1 and 2 and that's just all we had. Little Rock was lucky to not drop both Friday and Saturday to a crappy ISUr team. They could suck. Right now, we suck, and we aren't learning.

Great way to win 15 games. And oh by the way, being embarrassed in front of the other teams at this tournament, looking like a second rate program.

Gannon Snyder is competing. That's going to get him more playing time. But his leadoff double is wasted. Mo got hit but nothing else good.

Seems like Cdizzle is on to something. With so many D1 newcomers we may see a lot variance in performance from noob to noob. Could be another erratic year.

Kind of forgot what a 1-2-3 inning was like when we were in the field. Feels good. Amazing what happens when you work ahead and throw strikes.

Good for Caleb who has been our best pitcher after Favors so far.

Gotta start competing at the plate now.

Shocks get a HBP and infield single from Jordo to get 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Stroh hits into an inning ending DP, our 2nd in 4 innings.

Not sure how long we go with Caleb as he's nearing 40 pitches and certainly hasn't built up many innings yet.

Iowa gets their leadoff guy on, but at least Caleb is throwing more strikes than not. WP moves him up but a K and groundout gives him a chance to get out of the inning unscathed. We get a little lucky with one right at us to keep the score 4-0. Now's the time to make a dent. Obermueller is at 68 pitches, so if we can at least make him work a bit we should be able to get into their pen soon. But we've got to make him work.

One benefit to a radio only game when you are down by 4 early is its like a llulaby and you can get in a heckuva good nap for 3 or 4 innings.
