I haven't felt like this since, well, just a week or so ago watching the basketball team. Well that felt worst, I expected to get blown out at least once maybe twice this tournament.

We've thrown 157 freaking pitches in 4 innings and only 74 strikes. Yeah, it's a tight zone, but there's no excuse. Especially when you KNEW it coming in. Throw strikes, live with the results. They aren't chasing balls.

How can you have so many D1 arms that don’t throw strikes? Absolutely insane. I’d rather Auburn pound out 20 hits to get their 15 runs than to just load em up without their bat leaving their shoulders. Freaking slow pitch YMCA softball stuff we’re seeing here.

Mental weakness and lack of confidence.

I think Kemnitz has been underappreciated for what he did. He made guys with less raw talent into effective pitchers through whatever mind voodoo he did.

While trying to stay positive in the press conference, Skip intimated that some of the guys today are going to have a hard time getting back out on the mound after not competing today.

The more I sit on today the more OK with it I am. I think HCBG has the personality that will lend to guys sticking around and not portal quite so hard. Much more palatable to take these results as year 1 of a rebuild and not as the portal era doom.

Seems like Cdizzle is on to something. With so many D1 newcomers we may see a lot variance in performance from noob to noob. Could be another erratic year.
