Williams who was playing in left field is one of our stronger hitters with some power. He was batting in the 6-hole today. However, Williams in his Juco years did have a propensity to strike out a lot. He was similar to or worse then Garrett Pennington in that regard although I don't know that he quite has the power of Pennington. Because of that I thought it would make sense to pinch hit an try to bunt the runners over to 2nd and 3rd. As it turns out Williams did strike out. Now whether or not my strategy would have made any difference, who knows. But with 6 outs to a 4-2 lead sounds a helluva lot better than a 3-2 lead.

Taylor Dobbs in to pitch. Faces one batter and gets a fly ball to left.
Dobbs is then replaced by Nate Adler. Nate gets ahead 0-2 the gives up a single. Grrrrrrrrrrr!
Nate gets a strike out but then gives up a single to the 9-hole hitter to put runners on 1st and 3rd.
Bring up Virginia's All-American shorstop Griff O'Ferrall. O'Ferral grounds to short and Parker makes his 3rd thowing error of the game alowing the tying run to score.
