Did not see or listen to the game. Just looking at the box score I see the Shocks lost 9-5 despite outhitting the Bearcats 15-11. Only scoring 5 runs on 15 hits plus 2 walks and 2 hit batters tells me we just could not get the hits when we needed them. The Shockers left 12 runners on base and if I counted right 9 of those were in scoring position. Worse was that 8 of the 9 runners stranded in scoring position were there with less than 2 outs. So this loss wasn't because of lack of scoring opportunities. Just lack of scoring and one big crooked number in the 6th.

Tonight's game could get spectacularly ugly. As we saw last night, Cincy can hit. Jace Miner has been better, but he's up against it tonight. And our 'pen........

Wondering what's happened to USF. They were something like 18-9 against a decent non-con schedule (beat #11 Louisville, took 2 of 3 from 29-5 Mercer and won most of the games they should have, admittedly most at home and many against less than stellar competition but still. Since league play begun, they've been atrocious. They are 1-9 in their last 10 and have lost the first 2 of their series with Memphis, in Tampa. Ouch.

Gaaaar, on a date with the wife tonight and we were out at Bradley Fair when I realized we were just miles from the Shox game. So we went over and she wasn't allowed to bring her 10" x 10" x 4" purse in because it wasn't clear. She wouldn't leave it in the truck. Aaaaaagh. 9/11 airport security at a college baseball game. Okay.

I was very frustrated. I told her we would buy a couple hoodies or blankets to keep warm, but we didnt even make it in. We were gonna drop some coin on WSU gear on top of tickets.
