Looks like a ton of Shockers will be staying at home for the summer! Baseball at Eck Stadium next Tuesday!

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Hays Larks was suppose to start play this week but had a player (from Texas) test positive for covid on Saturday. They are now testing all players, if there are any other positives they will cancel their season.

Here is a rebroadcast of the Hutch-Newton game from last night at Eck Stadium, where Liam Eddy started for the Monarchs and Aaron Haase pitched in relief. Aaron Bechtel started for the Rebels, taking the loss.

It appears that pitching should be a strength of the Shocker baseball team next year. We had a good start on it this year, and we return most of the staff and have several good pitching recruits to add to it.

A lot of the guys have seen a nice turnaround with the new staff, none more than Preston who is absolutely thriving under this leadership. Couldn't happen to a nicer young man either.

Also interested in seeing how LHP Gareth Stroh mixes in. He began the year as Nebraska's ace, beating Baylor on the road in the season opener and leaving both games he started with big leads. Injuries cut his season short, but he's talented and has 33 starts under his belt between NU and Purdue.

11 Shockers playing in the SCL All-Star game at a Eck Stadium Saturday.

There’s a home run contest that will almost certainly feature Kocis and Gibson.

Kocis wins the HR contest 10-9 over Jackson Glenn of DBU. This despite a wind that heavily favored right-handed batters.
