  • Anthony Capra on the Drive

Listened to the Drive and the Lutz boys asked him about baseball at Wichita. They meant the AAA team/ownership and he misunderstood and started talking WSU Baseball. If anyone heard the show please correct me if I got a different read than what you heard. He basically said people need to get beyond the expectation of going to Omaha every year and it would take time to get back. Needed to rally around and support the program which if he didn’t say it he implied the current group. Stated that the landscape has changed since the mid 90’s and needed to accept that. Like I said if anyone else got a different read let us know. Thanks

There is an ocean between where we are (and have been for some time) and the CWS in Omaha.

lmfao, so you're saying under .500 seasons, 7th place conference finishes, and 150 fans per night at Eck are what we're supposed to be settling for?

(but with a Top 30 type salary)

I hope this is an early April Fool's joke.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

I felt like Capra would have been the choice over Pelfrey to replace Steele due to experience.I didn’t hear the interview but I don’t think anyone has expectations to go to Omaha anymore.I just want a team that competes and represents the schools baseball history well.As long as Butler is here, that’s not going to happen.

Well please keep him from ever being a coach at WSU. That is a crock of $&@t. Everybody lost those expectations over 10 years ago, the fans would just like a good baseball team.

Listen for yourself. I don’t think it was quite as negative. He’s supporting the program, kids, and Pelfry.

must be on his mind though as he clearly misunderstood the question.

Laugh all you want but I didn’t lose hope of going to Omaha until SHORTLY after Gene got fired.
