      To the 11th.

Our pitchers have thrown 163 pitches in 10 innings so far.

HBP to start, sac to 2nd. Walk. 1st and 2nd, 1 out for SFA.

        Fielder's choice, 1out, 2nd and 3rd.

        Crap.

Didn't get the out on the FC, then an error for a run. Loaded, 1 out.

No more damaged, but the way we're hitting......

It's utterly amazing. Doc used to be one of my biggest allies and me back to him. I didn't realize a few things though when things start going south in certain sports.

I call out Butler a lot because he's destroyed the baseball program and eating our $$ in the process. The results speak for themselves. I don't think I've ever called out any specific players, just general comments about what I see. Todd Butler is getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars (and failed at his job). He's a grown ass man. He can take and deserves to take it. That's the business of sports. Unfortunately, you have people that come on here that have developed personal relationships with him so they take it extra personally when people call him out for what he is and what his results are. So they get mad when they see any dose of realism spread on this board. And it kinda goes with families of players on the basketball team that we have called out. You probably shouldn't be spending time in social media or on a fan message board if you're a family member of a player/coach or have personal relationships with them. The case is made here. I can't come on here and call a spade a spade without being a bad fan or be shooed to be a ****ing KU fan. I actually want what's best for the program and you have these Butler groupies who would rather ride with him and live in sub par baseball land, because Todd Butler is a nice guy and a good ol' Louisiana boy. Well, that obviously is no good. And unfortunately, any sign of progress or hints of a "good" season (whatever that may be) and we have an athletic director who may be dumb enough to extend him, which would further send WSU baseball into irrelevance. So while I will never root against any WSU team, I'm certainly not excited where the program is the way it's currently being run. And lastly, I find it hilariously ironic that I get called out for being too negative about Butler when Doc and I'm sure other groupies here can call out other professional coaches and athletes and even amateurs (UNI players eh Doc?), but if he dare wears a gold and black hat, he is completely off limits even though he is what he is.

If cold, hard reality is too much for you, then ignore me all you want. Celebrate WSU baseball mediocrity and be rah, rah, rah!

But to think I should root for KU because I think Todd Butler is a horrible baseball coach and hurts WSU? That's just beyond pathetic and I can't forgive you for that one. Enjoy the last hurrah.

Such a fitting way for the Shox to lose - start the inning with HBP, then boot a made to order DP ball. Teams just don't deserve to win when you give 9 free passes (8 walks and 1 HBP).

True dat. Certainly makes it very, very difficult especially when you may not be able to easily overcome those things by scoring a ton of runs.

SFA gets their 1st batter on by HBP and sac him over.

WSU gets their 1st batter on by a walk and the next hitter flies out to right on the first pitch.

              You decide.

My guess is that the Butler did it. However it is quite apparent that changes are going to be made at the end of the season. I think everyone will be less grumpy when that finally takes place . Recovery will be a challenge. Probably should focus on which players will help us the most next year and root for them to improve

Or else what? It had been made clear that message boards are for messages, and if you don’t like different opinions, why the **** are you here?

WuDrWu is above reproach when to comes to being a Great Shocker. He attends events for almost all sports and follows the events he cannot attend. He constantly hooks up SN’rs with tix, and never asks a thing for them but that they get used.

It would be a sad day to be a Shocker if he didnt post anymore.

So berating and belittling other fans is above reproach huh? Interesting. Perhaps people like me and Fever should just bow down to the holier than thou masses on these boards that feel the need to call others stupid for making a comment. I guess it's time to put the ignore feature to use

shockerfanmas It seems we have a disciple of the three step internet trolling process.

                      1. Make stuff up.
                      2. Get offended when someone showa that it iant true.
                      3. Make more stuff up, typically personal, to demean the person who did it, trying to get them to defend themselves as justification.

shockerfanmas Do you still beat your wife?

You see how that works? No matter how you answer it, you are screwed.

Just accept you overstated, was corrected, but that even the correction supports your original arguement that we are underachieving what we should with the resources we have.

I'm done blaming Todd Butler for the ills of this program. The root cause of this program's failure is the A.D. who continues to enable mediocrity by keeping Butler around. Butler is laughing all the way to the bank behind closed doors - I'd be doing the same thing if I was in his shoes. Until our overrated A.D. finally decides to do his job and terminate Butler's contract, then go out and put forth the effort to hiring a great coach, we'll continue to have to put up with this crap.

Terrible loss in a game we should have won several times over. Just the stinking sacrifice bunts, they get theirs down and we don't, is one of 10 potential differences.

Happy for Clayton for battling back after last Friday and Luke Ritter continues to battle at the plate every time, but tons of work to be done everywhere else. I hope PCMP can get these guys to stop walking players that can't hit. One decently hit single all day and we're nibbling. Ugh.

I think it's time we all understand that WSU's hiring of Butler is old history, over and done. It appears that fences have been mended between fHCGS and WSU and so should all SNrs regardless of their opinion of the decision to fire Gene or the hiring of Butler.

Butler's continued presence, however, is a current issue that is festering this board and most likely almost all fans of Shocker baseball. That is hurting the program as a whole.

The players are caught in the crossfire. They may not be as high of level as we'd like, but that is not their fault. It's Butler's. They may not be as fundamentally sound as we'd like. That, too, rests with Butler. Nevertheless, they are our players, wearing our colors, and we should support them even if it sounds counterintuitive. We need to try and watch what we say and how we say it. As long as they appear to play hard, they deserve that.

What I cannot put on Butler is the contract that WSU gave him. He would no more walk away from that contract than you or I. That is on the athletic department. I do not know any more than anyone else here if the cost of firing Butler in the past and hiring a new staff was/is a real financial issue or not. We can't demand something that may not be able to be given.

Hopefully, this will be resolved before to much more damaged is done to the program. My hope is that the writing is already on the wall and all parties know that and that the process of finding a new head coach is already in motion.

Meanwhile, I have who I consider SN friends gnawing on each other. I feel they are all good posters, valuable to this board, and strong Shocker supporters. Most all of us know what needs to happen to turn the program around, but it's not in our hands. What is in our control is US. Show some personal restraint in comments about the program that may seem directed at players and to each other. Pretty sure any regular to this board knows how another feels about the handling of the baseball program. It doesn't need to be repeated over and over again.

As a guy that used to go to every WSU baseball game... can’t wait to buy my season tickets when this chapter ends. I just feel really sad... We had something great, and allowed one person to ruin it, potentially forever.

                            A few facts:

ADDB didnt hire Todd Butler. Former ADES did.
It has been 23 years since our last CWS. Not 6.
It has been 11 years since our last Super Regional. Not 6.
We are paying a Top 100 Salary. (Not getting those results)
We have a Top 50 facility. (Not getting those results)
It takes money to compete. (See mens basketball)
Not spending money only makes it worse.

If you want change, buy tickets. Get your money in there. Show up and purchase concessions. Talk to your work about Corporate Packages. It will take a lot to get back to where many seem to think we should be. The surefire way to not get there is not supporting the program. You can do this even if you don’t support the coach.
