  • Shockers at Kansas

WSU travels to Lawrence this evening for the return game against the Jayhawks, first pitch slated for 6 PM.

WSU will start Preston Snavely (RHP, 2-1, 4.56) and KU will run out Conner VanCleave (LHP, 0-2, 12.91). Shockers took the first game in the season series last week 11-0.

Hopefully Preston can build on his last start, this time on the road. Go Shocks!

12.91 - Sure hope we don't make him look like Cy Young tonight.

Could happen, but that hasn't really been one of this team's failings, IMO. They have generally hit poor pitching well, which has been a welcome departure from the last several years.

WSU ties it up at 1-1 in the 3rd on a 1 out RBI double by Travis Young.

Good AB's by Boyer and Young to produce the tying run.. Jenista and Bohm both have had 2 AB's and have not looked good at all.

Preston surrendering a ton of complete dink base hits, ugh. 2-1 KU to the 4th on a 2 out RBI single that might have qualified as hard hit in a tee ball game.

It wasn't a swinging bunt, It was a perfectly executed bunt. A real thing of beauty executed intentionally and very well. A good exhibition of baseball skill. The ball went exactly where the hitter intended it to go.

I wouldn't consider that a dink hit in a million years.

Fair enough. Enjoy your evening and thanks for much-needed correction.

2-1 KU to the 5th. Preston pitching decently, his control has been maybe the best of the season so far.

    Hitters need to get going.

May have to consider moving Travis Young up to the lead off spot. Seems to have figured some things out.

      Jenista is due.

Jenista hit it well but right into the teeth of the defense.

Luke uses the force to pick him up with a 2-run dinger to left.

3-2 WSU on a two run jack by Ritter to left center. Nice.

I think KU is bringing in anohter righthander here. Probably should pinch hit for Daton with a lefty batter.

Looks like they are going to give Hunter Gibson a shot. Unflortunately Hunter not up to the task. But good inning for the Shocks.

Preston at only 71 pitchers. Perhaps let ihim go out to start the 6th and have someone ready to go at the 1st sign of trouble.

Did KU read Keith Guttin book on how to apply "Eye Black"? KU players look like raccoons.

Shockers extending their lead to 5-2 T6, still batting

These KU announcers sound like Bob Uecker in Major League

Really nice at bat by the Shocks in the top of the 6th especially by the bottom half of the order.

Snavely out to start the home half of the 6th.

Excellent play by Josh DeBacker in right. Probably taking a home run away from KU.
