WSU (13-4) hosts Oklahoma (14-8) at 6 PM on Tuesday in a big mid-week contest.
This is a very close matchup on paper and should be a good test. OU has played a slightly tougher schedule than the Shocks (SoS 29 vs. 61) and, as of Sunday, sports an RPI of 39 (vs. 18 for WSU).
The Sooners are well balanced with a 3.80 ERA (3.61 for WSU) and hit .280 (vs. .272 for WSU). OU hits for less power (11 home runs vs. 20 for WSU) and averages 6.0 runs per game (vs. 6.5 for WSU). Their pitchers have similarly impressive K/9 numbers vis a vis the Shockers.
It will be very interesting to see who each team runs out as its starter with OU coming off a 5 game week and WSU coming off a 3 game week with an abbreviated weekend.
Go Shocks!
