Muncrief (3.2), Beringer (1.2), Vielock (0.1) and LaBrie (1.0) gave up 4 runs in 6.2 innings but only 1 of those was earned. The two out errors by Halbert and Grimes lead to the 3 runs in the 7th that pretty much put the game away.
On offense the Shocks did have 11 hits, 8 walks, and 1 HBP Unfortunately they could only plate 3 of those 20 baserunners. 2 were erased on double plays, 1 (Grimes) was picked off was picked off 3rd by the cather and the other 14 were stranded.
Won't win very many games with that kind of production. Hopefully, it was just one of those days.
Fortunately, the Shox have this entire week to get back to Wichita, go to class, and practice every day for a week (minus required day(s) off) before the Tulane series starts on Friday. It should be a good week to work on some fundamentals.
A 9-2 start and a 2-2 road first road trip of the year is not a disaster. I would have thought 3-1 considering the competition, but UTA apparrently has the Shox number.
