I'm not really for paying college athletes, but this is another area I think the NCAA needs to control better. It's like the bagel with cream cheese issue. There have been articles about the NCAA sending teams home from the tournament in the middle of the night after the late game because NCAA rules don't allow teams to stay the extra night. Schools and the NCAA need to pick these things up.

While I was appalled at first, I think this is much ado about nothing. While I have never been to Hawaii, I'm told that because of the time difference, mainland-bound flights typically leave later in the evening so that you'll reach the mainland at an early but not stupid early hour where you'd have to wait a long time for a connecting flight.

Therefore, if your flight left at 8pm, you'd get up that morning after the game, check out of the hotel, and use a ballroom to store luggage. You could set up tables and chairs and hang out in there...or also go sit on the beach for a few hours. I HIGHLY doubt a team actually slept overnight in a ballroom.
