Omg, I just ventured over to the MSU message board. LOL. That place is a riot!! I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while. Talk about a Fairytaleland.

They're blaming the Valley for their school not getting at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament. LOL. They also are bragging about banging out 18,000 for a game against a D-2'er and calling for expansion plans to their stadium. Nevermind the fact that you can get in the game for $5. What is this? High school football? I think a ticket to a WSU volleyball game is like $8. LOL.

And now they're all crushed that the Sun Belt Conference is eyeing powerhouses Eastern Kentucky and Coastal Carolina for their conference. Now their dreams are on hold. The obsession with the Sun Belt is just fascinating. Absolutely hilarious.

But Conference USA or the Big 12 will be calling eventually. It's Missouri State afterall. And they're bringing 18,000 fans to Chadron State damn it.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

Be honest, did you ever darken the door of a WSU classroom? If only college graduates came to your games it would be less then half full. Good bye.:tears_of_joy:

Nice try with the Good Bye. We can only hope.

I'm guessing most, if not large %, of the regulars on this board are WSU alums.

Edit since you did: Given your much LARGER student body, it makes your poor attendance even worse and says that Springfield doesn't even care.

Most college graduates don't need to use the "edit" button.

I don't need an "inside scoop," I simply need common sense. Koch is essentially a huge asset management firm, which is an industry that doesn't make much use at all of academic research. WSU's research funding is almost entirely engineering based.

And my avatar has nothing to do with Star Wars, but fist bump anyways bro.

EDIT: The figures I posted are 100% legit, if that's your angle. Source is the National Science Foundation, which as far as I know is the only body who tracks such metrics. They are the source used by the media when they need an academic research dollar figure for something.

I've got legitimate sources for any of the numbers I've posted in this thread, if you so need them.

Wait a minute. They had total attendance last year of 58,324. They sold out one game at 18,000 due to their stadium renovation. So that means there were 40,000 tickets sold for the remaining 4 games.

Their average attendance for games other than their stadium renovation celebration game was 10,000! * Ouchie! * MuhHAHAHAHA * Nyuck nyuck nycuk *!!

Congratulations Jtaylor, you're the first person in internet history to say Wichita State fans have around half being t-shirt fans. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that in my life. Like Davy Crockett or Neil Armstrong, you've blazed trails no man before has.

You may find that as you get closer to my age, Fev, that's no longer true. :frown:

I'm just glad that if I make the correction soon enough, it doesn't show up as an "edit". :yahoo:

Pittsburg State has a better chance of moving up to FBS before MSU does. I bet their athletic spending is close to the Bares too.

Looks like Pitt State spends about $7.5M annually on athletics. Put another way, the fiscal variance between D2 Pitt State and MSU is nearly identical to the variance between MSU and WSU. It goes $7.5M Pitt State, $15M MSU, and $23M WSU (no football).

It is even more lame when you drill down to football program numbers: D2 Pitt State sits at $1.9M, and future FBS power MSU sits at $2.7M. As I posted earlier in this thread, the only FBS schools with lower average attendance than FCS MSU are Akron and Ball State. Those schools still spend $6M-$7M on their football programs. From a financial perspective, MSU has far more in common with the top schools in D2, than they do the worst schools in FBS.

They have an even deeper problem. The NCAA requires 15,000 tickets average _per game_ to be in FBS. They only got 15,000+ one time last year when the stadium was newly renovated and the curiosity/excitement factor kicked in over that. So if you subtract that game, they only averaged 10,000 after that. There's no doubt that moving up to FBS would help them draw better, but a 50% increase for _every single game_ no matter how badly they are doing? Not thinking the NCAA is going to get excited about that prospect.

You guys are hilarious! You say MSU isn't relevant yet you spend days on explaining why! Your buttons are so easy to push.

Obviously this board is more relevant to you than the pickin' and grinnin' going on in Springpatch.

And thanks for playing, we probably needed a tune-up against an RPI buster to knock the rust off.
