Remainder of Penn Volleyball Season Cancelled

It was only their 2 remaining matches of the season this past weekend. Not sure how long the offending posters have been in their locker room.

The University of Pennsylvania women's volleyball team has been informed that the remainder of its season has been cancelled, effective immediately. The Quakers will not travel to their final two contests of the regular season, which were scheduled for Friday (at Yale) and Saturday (at Brown).

The decision to cancel the remainder of the season was made following the discovery of vulgar, offensive, and disrespectful posters in the women's volleyball locker room earlier this week. These actions were in violation of team and Divisional policy and this matter has been referred to University administration for further review in accordance with University policy.

"The behavior exhibited by our women's volleyball student-athletes is simply unacceptable and will not be tolerated," the T. Gibbs Kane, Jr. W'69 Director of Athletics and Recreation Dr. M. Grace Calhoun said. "We expect our student-athletes to represent the University of Pennsylvania in a first-class and respectful manner at all times, and in this case, our women's volleyball student-athletes did not meet that standard. We have reviewed the matter with the appropriate University partners and will determine additional steps in the coming days and weeks."
Last year Penn volleyball had several veteran players quit and eight players file formal grievances against head coach Iain Braddak for jeopardizing their mental health, according to the Daily Pennsylvanian.

The Daily Pennsylvanian reported last spring that a large portion of the team came forward and expressed their frustrations with the way Penn Athletics handled the situation.

I don't know. Those details have not been reported as far as I know.

Seems to me that the U of P takes one tact regarding it's handling of coaches and a different one for players.
