I think HC3GM is clearly the top of that list, and by a long shot. Unfortunately for them S.Carolina is actually a step down from what he has here and so the big unknown is does going back to a lesser situation at the mothership override a better situation at school where he has the best recruiting class ever. Very hard to imagine him taking a step backward at this moment, but if he or his wife is homesick, what can you do?
Not all USC fans have done a 180. There are still some that don't like his personality. In fact, I have seen similar disparaging comments on an Illinois board (although that could have been an ISU fan in disguise). Actions and comments, like what happened last weekend, which we defend or at a minimum accept, are not as readily embraced by some of those outside the WSU family. And that's okay with me.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

Yeah, all good points. I'd prefer he stay in the heartland and we keep showin' him the love!

Probably right, I was taking the pulse on the S.Carolina board after our win to see what type of buzz he was getting and it was all positive. But that was probably just because of the beat down laid down in their backyard. I dunno. I don't see S. Carolina having as cocky (okay there truly was no pun intended here) attitude as the Illinoisying fans, but you never know. I suppose they could be like Indiana State and think they are a special gift to the conference after playing only 3 good games in a row like they did in the tournament last year. I just don't know.

Starts at 4:00 with announcements at 5:00? Is there an expected turnout or anything?

It's anybodies guess on the turnout.

Looks like they are putting a little bit of effort into the event:

WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State will host a public NCAA Selection Show Watch Party with Head Coach Gregg Marshall and the 2012 men's basketball team on the floor of Charles Koch Arena Sunday afternoon.

The "homesick" part of your previous comment will keep me on edge for sure. However, as Gregg said, he's only a 2 hour jet ride from either coast, and that includes South Carolina.

Being a long time SEC fan in football, I can tell you that USCjr. (which is what everyone calls them on the Tennessee board I visit) is more like Indiana State than Illinois. At least in football. (as of late they've had a much better program than usual) They typically do a lot of jabbering about how good they are, without much to back it up.

The thing about USCjr is that they have a diehard fan base. Back when they were bottom of the barrel SEC, they'd sell out their stadium every game. Granted it was tailgate, but what ever. I had a cousin who went to USC and she would always tell me that they went to the football game because it was just something to pass the time while they took a break from tailgating. She actually knew people who had season tickets, who kept their parking pass so they could tailgate, but sold their tickets, because they had a big bus that they hooked up with a satellite and would watch the game on a big screen while they tailgated. However on the flip side, basketball is 3rd on the pecking list at USC. Football > Baseball > Basketball.

If USC opens up, I'm leaning towards us getting a new coach next year. It's home for Gregg, can't fault a man for wanting to go home and be around family. I just don't know how smart of a move career wise it is. Because you're talking about taking a 10-21 team who needs a facelift bad, that is at the bottom of a strong Power 6 conference, that has teams such as Kentucky, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, that he will play every single year. If Gregg wants to test his coaching skills, I guess USCjr is a good of place as any to prove that.

Well, if he did happen to go, he wouldn't have to give up his hatred of the color BLUE.

I agree the Gamecock fans don't seem "cocky" at all. In fact, they almost seemed to be resigned to being an also-ran in the SEC in basketball. Of course, the right coach could change all that.

                          4 things:

1)The Gregg Marshall Radio Show with Mike Kennedy will be from 4 to 5 prior to the Selection Show, in Koch Arena.

2)No better time than Sunday than to show Coach how much we care and appreciate the job he's done here.....and let him know how much we'd like him to finish his career here.

                          3)Prepare to open the wallets.

4)One more chance to show the team how much joy they've provided us this season, and to send them off to the dance with a rousing Give 'em Hell Shocks!

I'm of the opinion that any school is allowed to pilfer another school's coach but once. While not directly, USC has already used their one transfer.

I think I saw a USC fan suggest we take Eddie back. No deal.
