I hope the Republicans who praised Scozzafava for withdrawing did so in a failed attempt to discourage her from endorsing Owens (not that her endorsement of Owens will have any practical affect on the race).

The alternative—that they actually believed that she withdrew to help the GOP, and not because she was a certain loser—is too depressing to contemplate. :ohno:

I suppose from where Scozzafava stands, endorsing Owens makes absolute sense. As you point out, she's not that much of a conservative, and on a lot of issues, her views line up with that of the Democratic nominee. If Hoffman wins, she doesn't lose much; it's not like she had a bright future in Republican politics she was throwing away. And if Owens wins, she can gloat. She can say that the Republicans lost a seat because they were too finicky; she'll be the latest Arlen Specter, Jim Jeffords, Lincoln Chafee, Jim Leach - a figure with an (R) after their name, now supporting the Democrats, and now praised by so many for being sensible and bipartisan and putting partisan loyalties aside, etc.

I just had a thought; a Conservative party candidate eking out a plurality in a three-way race is one thing. A Conservative candidate winning head-to-head against a Democrat, with the endorsement of the Republican... well, that is another thing entirely.

We will see what scenario unfolds.

Looks like The Rs are going to easily win in VA tomorrow and the latest poll in NJ I've seen shows Christie with a two point lead on Corzine and the Dagget with 12%. Looks like NJ and NY are the ones to really watch tomorrow.

This district has never had a Dem, the fact that the Dem is this close is amazing. 8)

              Sorry kc, I disagree!

The fact that a Dem can't ride the Obama wave in a 2 party system WITH the endorsement of the "Republican" candidate to victory against a lowly 3rd party candidate is the amazing thing.

Surely the Obama race-fixing machine, aka ACORN, will be on hand to deliver glorious victory for "The One".

Sorry kc, but I have to disagree again and unfortunately, point out your flawed thinking.

NY 23 went for President Obama in 2008, making it not quite as red as your heros on MSNBC would lead you to believe.

That they have been smart enough to send a correct thinking Congressional representative to DC since the Civil War doesn't change the fact that an unknown 3rd party candidate is projecting ahead of the Obama backed Dem.

Never be surprised by what happens in New Jersey politics:

Democrats admit paying for pro-Daggett call; Obama records robocall for Corzine

This news breaks too late to make much of a difference, but it simply confirms what many have long suspected: that the Democrats have so much of a vested interest in independent Christopher Daggett splitting the anti-incumbent vote that they are actively promoting his candidacy.

The New Jersey election largely depends on the dead vote, the inmate vote, the illegal-alien vote, and the number of ghost voters the unions and their fellow travelers turn out for Corzine, who has everything going against him except Democrats who apparently are fine with buying elections, high taxes, and corruption.

I think it will be a long night.

I understand that Corzine signed into law a provision that allows anyone to go into an election office, pick up as many as 10 ballots, and then return those 10 ballots filled out for those that do not want to get out to vote or cannot get out to vote.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

If true, this is a sickeningly wide open GUARANTEE of corruption & election fraud.

Oh, misguided and uninformed one. So it was tragic when they voted for Obama in 2008?

What is tragic is a republic where people in growing and growing numbers refuse to be responsible for themselves and rely on elitist morons for all of life's wants and needs.

I honestly do not know, but I'd be willing to wager that the "tragic past" of NY 23 has managed their district about 1000 times more efficiently and productively than any district that has voted democrat for the last 100 years.

But if so, I am sure you and your cronies will blame it on Pharma, big business, capitalism or President Bush....whatever your hot topic blame game media monster is telling you to on that day.

Good examples of voter fraud at the end of the article. Hard to believe Bertha Lewis (ACORN head) also co-chairs the Working Families Party.....do any of these criminals not suckle off the government teat their entire lives? What a joke.

If the the republicans had groups involved at this level, you libs would be screaming for the Supreme Court to issue a pre-emptive strike.
