If the Dems get their way with the heavy taxation of soda pop, you can count on paying more for a cola in CKA!

WTF, tax, tax, tax, that's all you Lib's seem to know. Opps, I forgot you know spend, spend, spend.
SC, some times it's better to be silent and to be thought dumb, then to speak and remove all doubt.

Carbohydrates and Sugars
Most American women should consume no more than 100 calories of added sugars per day; most men, no more than 150 calories. That’s about 6 teaspoons of added sugars a day for women and 9 for men. The 2001-2004 NHANES (National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey) database showed the average intake of added sugars for all Americans was 22.2 teaspoons per day or about 355 calories.Soft drinks and other sugar-sweetened beverages are the No. 1 source of added sugars in the American diet. A 12-ounce can of regular soda contains about 130 calories and 8 teaspoons of sugar.

A couple of things here '1979.
Taxes on cigs, alcohol etc (and future ones on pop) haven't EVER lowered anyone else's taxes. All those taxes do is give government an excuse to spend the money on something else.
Who is to say what is a "necessity"? Maybe gambling isn't a "necessity"....what if the vegan crowd decides beef isn't a "necessity"?
It is past the point of slippery slope......this is beyond idiotic and getting worse every day.

I'm thinking we ought to lobby for a 10% sin tax on all restaurant purchases. After all, the food is unhealthy, has added sugars and are completely unnecessary.
And all sugar-added items at the grocery store.
Don't forget the concession stands at CKA and Eck. Make those a 20% tax just because.
Seems there are some enemies to freedom on this board.
A better use of resources would be to hold those who use their freedoms to engage in unhealthy behaviors responsible for their actions. Taxes aren't the way to do it.

That's what he and his minions do though. If you don't agree with them, you are an idiot and apparently un-American. Real classy guys.

Its funny. All of us are the same. Look no further than the last time you drove down Kellogg.
Every person that is going slower than you is a moron and every guy going faster than you is an idiot. Every person on their phone is stupid and every person texting is just plain dumb.
It cracks me up watching those that disagree about things that only matter because that is what the "press" thinks is important.
I'm convinced we are fudged no matter what happens with HC bill. I'm convinced that no additional taxes on any product will help contain the expenditures of all present Senators and Congressmen. This problem goes back over the past few presidencies and congresses where Dems passed legislation to help their cause, Repubs took advantage of the loopholes that were there to help their cause, then the Repubs passed legislation to help their cause and Dems took advantage of loopholes to help their cause, and now they are pointing fingers back and forth.
What people don't seem to accept is that we are all on the Titanic, and it doesn't matter who hit the iceberg. Every decision and warning that was overlooked by everyone put us where we are and there aren't enough lifeboats for everyone.
