In my opinion the institutions that should cause us concern are the multinational conglomerates of the world, not the government. I do believe that a more European system of looking at business, taxation, and government would help small business out, and prevent large multinational corporations from controlling our policy and markets.

I disagree with the notion that Socialism is government in direct competition with private business. I would think that most would consider a European approach to government to be Socialism, yet there are alot of businesses in Europe most of them are not in direct competiton with their government.

I also want to point out again that I am not advocating for any changes that are not voted on or passed by us or those that we elect. I hope this helps explain my point of view a little better.
Interesting thing is I work with a guy who immigrated from a Communist-Socialist European country. He does not want to go back except for short visits.

So, adapting a European style of government would improve this?

I submit, it would add to this!

      Count me out.

My personal opinion on more government control of various things such as healthcare is that they just create more government. We don't need 18 new departments to form that will only bog down each other and resources.

There is no such thing as transparent government if we keep adding more and more beaurocracy's.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

As the government directly creates more jobs, the left is also buying votes.

Do you think a government employee or recipient of government-provided benefits will ever vote for a small-government advocate (ie. a conservative)?
