However, his recent comments and decisions seem to indicate that the ballooning federal deficit has his attention.
"Principles" in quotes? Trump is a populist with some conservative leanings. High tariffs, under no definition, are conservative. His DOL pick is one that Democrats love. Is that conservative?

Certainly, DOGE and its goal is conservative.

I know that. But I still know people who think he is. Their heads explode if you ever mention George Soros to them. Now they have Soros guy running treasury.

The director of national intelligence is a former Democrat (Gabbard)

Trump has now fully taken over the GOP and made it into the MAGA party with people who are loyalists and share his views on spending, trade, and defense. Conservatism is dead.

Will it work? Well, he has two years to make it work.
        I like Bessent. He's solid.

        RFK is a wackjob.

Gabbard seems to be an opportunist turncoat. DEFINITELY not qualified for Dir. of Nat. Intelligence. The American spy business has some of the brightest minds in the world working inside it. While her cabinet position is a political one, and is likely shielded from some of the most sensitive and enduring missions, she can still **** a bunch of stuff up. How do I know this? Because I watch spy movies. :D

The Republican Party has absolutely been Trumped. And it's an amazing feat because Donald is no genius. Not by a long shot. He's a very hardworking car salesman at best.

And yet he taps into Conservative Project 2025, and its authors which strongly support employers and opposes unions. There is some confusion on Tariffs and Free Trade. However, Edmund Burke, who is considered the Father of Conservatism was for totally Free Trade.

During the campaign, President-elect Donald Trump denied knowing anything about the “ridiculous and abysmal” plans, even though some were written by his former aides and many allies.

At least that money will still be there to use more efficiently when Trump assumes office, though right?

Trump disavowed Project 2025. I haven't actually looked at anything about Project 2025. I used to be a donor of Heritage, but no longer. That was before Project 2025, FWIW. They are in the neighborhood of whack jobs, but not yet.

Most people including me, know nothing about project 2025 nor do they care about it.. The only thing that we know about it is that it's bad, because the media says so. This is the same media that says Trump is Hitler and that he's out to jail those who don't support him.

Best ask cold what's in it. He seems to know even more about everything than Alexa.

                  • Democrats demonized 2025 so those who don't know what it is think it is terrible. Might want to read it first. A lot of good things. Not all but much of it. Those same people thought the BLM agenda was great with not reading or understanding it

I wouldn't be so sure. This was the same dude that spent around $20 million a mile on a totally useless and symbolic 14th century border wall. I say symbolic, because if I try to take his effort to secure the border with a new (physical) wall seriously, I'd have no other choice but to believe he's mentally retarded.

The obvious solution would have been to use various optical, seismic, and drone surveillance measures that when triggered, would alert a team to intercept. This would be nearly 100% effective and cost a FRACTION of what his $20M/mile wall did.

Trump chose the "wall campaign" because the voters are actually that dumb. Or Trump is. Or both. *sigh*

Your supreme intelligence never cease to amaze me. I'm sure Trump will be contacting you soon to get a small portion off your great knowledge concerning security apparatus and their best use to secure our borders.

                        • It would be like NCIS. In Tulsa at 7:15, then in Iraq at 7:20.

With our technological capacity, we could solve any border surveillance issues a dozen different ways. Hell, our satellite array could take care of any above-ground movement. We could count the number of armadillos taking a **** before noon if we wanted. How much easier would human beings walking across fields be? Now the tunnel diggers would require seismic detection. Easy peasy pie.

We don't have a border "problem", we have unmotivated politicians. Cost is nominal. AI could do most of the detection.

I'm no RFK fan, but can appreciate his desire to remove chemicals from our food supply and stop unnecessary drugs from being prescribed.
