The way I read that was that he directed the song at "all of them". The "GOP" is those people as well as Democrats. That's what cracked him up when the GOP used his song.

By the way, I do feel they should have asked him if they could use his song.

How do you write in a someone and expect your vote to go toward anyone that will win over swing voters? It's almost a counterdictory statement
Total waste of a vote, but that's your right.

I was meaning if anyone else gets the Republican nomination there's an opportunity to attract votes from swing voters and independents. I'd vote for anyone on the stage on Wednesday night over Biden.
Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

But you wouldn't vote Trump over Biden or Newsome?
That is my point. I can't imagine too many indepents giving the Dems a nod on this election. If anything, I think they just don't vote. But I believe there will be a ton of Dems going the no 'vote' path.
But you may be right because those 'no votes' will be Dem votes if the Dems can get their hands on those ballots. Mail in, ballot harvesting and unmanned ballot drops are a huge advantage for those willing to cheat.

You are arguing with yourself. In 2020, Biden won from his basement. Trump, unwilling to make changes in his approach to win new converts to add to his base. Thus, the lack of confidence that he wins.

No, I believe it was clear that I was discussing (arguing) with ta town. Unless I am schizophrenic, that means I wasn't arguing with myself.

I totally agree with you. It’s too bad that with all of Trump’s media Davy skills, his “fire breathing” base is all that he reaches. If he used all of his skills, he could win in a landslide by bringing more of the women independent thinkers l, especially suburban women (who tend to vote more Republican) to vote for him.

I especially Trump’s angry mugshot ( he made sure was in the media). That’s the image he wants out in the public and he manipulates the media with it. He’s sometimes brilliant with his P. R. And advertising knowledge and skills. However, it rarely adds to his vote totals.

I suppose they'll pick Gavin Newsome to be Joe's VP. Trump will try to take Tim Scott, and if it's DeSantis, he'll chose Haley.

I know you believe your opinions, but sometimes they are kinda really wrong. Trump got the most Republican votes in history, and only lost due to ballot harvesting, plain and simple.

Data show majority of Trump's 2020 support came from women and people of color

                    From the Washington Post:

The 2016 exit polls told us that 52 percent of White women voted for Donald Trump.
                    ...
Fast forward to Election Day 2020: Exit polling indicates that Trump’s support had increased among White women, with some major polls putting it at 55 percent.

If ballot harvesting laws haven't been substantially overhauled or Republicans don't engage in a massive ballot harvesting effort, then nothing will change next election regardless of who the candidates are. It's really that simple.

I know you think you’re right, but ballot harvesting was only legal in certain states. Early voting and ballot harvesting isn’t exactly the same things (although they sometimes cross over). Some states send out an early ballot to every citizen (some states didn’t like Kansas and most Red states) like California, New York, and more blue states. That’s where ballot harvesting was a big problem. Not every state was a ballot harvesting problem. Trump (electoral college wise) didn’t win the blue states and lost the purple states, not all of which sent out ballots to every voter eligible (18 yr. Old) citizen. Each state had different voter laws.

THE GOP FIELD IS ALREADY SHRINKING. It has often been remarked that the first debate of the 2024 Republican presidential primary race, held Wednesday in Milwaukee, marks a new stage in the GOP campaign. One important part of that new stage is that the debate begins the process of cutting down the 13-candidate field. It's already

Christie will drop out faster and fast, so he can stop spending money and shuffle his unspent campaign funds off to a Super PAC that he will control (and pay himself a nice large salary to manage that Super PAC). The only way he will stay in is if he thinks he can soak his donors even more, before bailing out.

I would definitely vote for Trump and basically any of the 8 Republicans on the debate stage and many others who weren't on the debate stage over Gel Brain and Hair Gel.

But the question is who gives the Republucans the best chance of winning the presidency with coattails to gain control of both the house and senate.

I thought Trumps policies in his first term were quite good. But there were aldo some problems His ability to surround himself with the right people and create a strong team is highly suspect. His handling of Covid was poor overall. And I have been very disappointed in how he and his team have run his primary campaign. Very Democrat or Rino like. Trump claims it was his influence that got Ronna McDaniel re-elected as chair of the RNC. A yuge mistake in my opinion

I think his style is an issue as well especially in the general. People are generally put off with arrogant, narcissitc people who claim everything absolutely everything they do, say and generally everything about the is perfect or the greatest while bashing anyone who disagrees in the most sophomoric of fashions.

I do admire Trump for standing up against the current totalitarian regime running this banana republic we find ourselves in. He could easily walk away from this and live a great life.

It is possible that the current regime has and will continue to overplay its hand and perhaps push Trump over the top in 2024.

At this point Ron DeSantis is my favorite However there is really no sane option yo not vote for the Republican nominee in the general, regardless who that is.

Right now that looks likely to be Trump. I just hope that if somehow that changes Trump will strongly support the nominee in the general.
