Sounds like our Democratic governor should come to her state's defense.

If he's talking about the state. NYC is the worst part, and it's his part. I've been to NY a couple of times. Never to NYC, thank God. The state is great, NYC is not.

And to say Kansas doesn't have a brand is ignorant. But I expect nothing more from these asshats.

NYC definitely has us beat in bums, drug use, crime, stench, etc. So yes, they have quite a brand. Seriously, I’ve been to NYC numerous times on business and pleasure (haven’t spent time in the state). I always loved their city and the culture, but times have changed. I sure hope they figure it out before it’s too late.

I played a concert in the Jazz at the Lincoln Center series when I was in college. Manhattan was a blast. Great food, the Met was awesome, and Central Park was cool too. The city had a sexual tension that made it extremely uncomfortable. Hot (talking 11/10) lesbians wearing pretty much nothing, other women with lips hanging out everywhere. Generally beautiful people everywhere in various states of undress. Pretty much soft core porn in real life. There were times I didn’t know were to look. It’s easy to think that that’s not a problem, but the rush of hormones was overwhelming. I was happy to get back to ESU and the ugly -10/10 feminists waddling around campus.

I don't understand why so many seem to care what some blowhard dumbass from NYC says about anything other than NYC.

I will sometimes watch reaction videos on YouTube from people in England or Ireland. I love looking through their comments when they say something based entirely off of perceptions of LA or NYC and they get blasted, mostly in nice ways, about how those cities do not represent most of the country. The people I watch generally know that, but sometimes they get caught up in things and you can't completely blame them, as they only know what they've seen on TV and such, unless they've been here.

Personally, even though I know the rest of the state isn't that bad, NYC pretty much ruins the whole state for me and I have no desire to go, other than to maybe drive thru it to get to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine. Though the history nerd in me could probably find a purpose to venture to parts of it.

But back to the point, nothing this guy says or does means anything to me.

NYC has such a "brand" that it has lost something like 5% of its population in the past several years.

Hilarious watching all of these people who share the same views and the same exact beliefs as Eric Adams attack him for this comment. This is what they would all vote for if he were on the ballot in Kansas.

The Mayor's comments go much deeper than what you think.

It did garner a little national publicity, and I think we would agree that it wasn't positive publicity. We have to deal with "fly over" country comments, and a lot of disregard to the opinions of our state.

The NY Mayor was just stating a lack of respect for people who disagree with him, and the Democrat Party on most issues. If you go back in history, since the Constitutional Convention (when there were only 13 colonies) there has been a disregard and even back lash at SMALL States (Midwest, South, and West), or less populated States. The feeling has been that they don't matter., and the tension from the larger states is that all votes should be totally equal. However, for the Constitution to be ratified by ALL States, a compromise had to be made so that power was distributed.

I think most here think that too much power in the President and federal government is a bad thing. Smaller less populated states did too, so they compromised
!) They limited the Federal Government Powers by distributing federal powers to 3 branches of Government. (Many still think that the President/Executive has too much power but that is another discussion).
                  2) They distributed the powers of States with large populations by having a Senate (each state would have two Senators), that could temper the other House of Representatives.
                  3) The Electoral College for President of the United States (some think that reforms are necessary but reforms would not affect the basic number of votes from each state). Each state holds a popular election, and then the number of votes from each state for President equals the numbers of Senators and House Representatives they have. We all have two Senators (thus two votes), plus the numbers in the House.
                  4) Advice and Consent on Treaties and Approval of SCOTUS nominees is in the Senate where each state has two members.

The Democrat Party are very unhappy with these compromises and like the Governor of New York have a lack of respect for Small States. Thus, they want to Completely do away with the
Electoral College, pack the SCOTUS, and stomp on other places where the Constitution gives other states besides New York, California, Illinois, and other highly populated Democrat States too much power. Democrats also want Washington DC and Puerto Rico to become States up to 52, and change the power in our Union.

So, the Mayor's comments went much deeper than just a lack of respect. He wants to change add to the power of the Democrat Party. Some of my historical Constitutional compromise commentary isn't mentioned in the article below, but it does speak to the Democrat's wanting to change the balance of power.
