  • U.S. Attorney General - Opposing CRT is terrorism

Attorney General Merrick Garland has instructed the FBI to mobilize against parents who oppose critical race theory in public schools.

DeSantis says AG Garland 'weaponizing the DOJ' against parents | Fox News

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday vowed to fight an order by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland directing the FBI to address threats of violence against school officials and teachers across the country.

"Attorney General Garland is weaponizing the DOJ by using the FBI to pursue concerned parents and silence them through intimidation," the Republican governor tweeted. "Florida will defend the free speech rights of its citizens and will not allow federal agents to squelch dissent."

I just hope the liberals see who they are voting into office, for what they are.

In a Sept. 29 letter, the National School Boards Association said much of this opposition led to dozens of incidents at school board meetings this year, claiming, “America’s public schools and its education leaders are under an immediate threat.”

The NSBA suggested that “[a]s these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes” and asked that the administration review the question.
Who would have thought we would see this type of thing in this country. It is unraveling quickly.

BLM socialists violently taking over and destroying blocks of major American cities? That's just perfectly legal, nonviolent protest.

Conservatives attending and peacefully protesting at school board meetings? Call the FBI on those terrorists!

Garland’s memo stated the FBI would work with U.S. attorneys and federal, state and local authorities to develop strategies to combat what he called “a disturbing spike” in violent threats facing educators, administrators and school boards.

The FBI is not targeting opponents of critical race theory

CLAIM: “Attorney General Merrick Garland has instructed the FBI to mobilize against parents who oppose critical race theory in public schools, citing ‘threats.’”

AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. In a memo Monday, Garland directed federal authorities to address a rise in criminal conduct targeting school board members and public schools employees, following a request from the National School Boards Association. Garland did not single out critical race theory in his memo, and a Department of Justice press official said the claim amounted to misinformation.

THE FACTS: Garland’s memo stated the FBI would work with U.S. attorneys and federal, state and local authorities to develop strategies to combat what he called “a disturbing spike” in violent threats facing educators, administrators and school boards. The trend was highlighted in a Sept. 29 letter from the NSBA to President Joe Biden requesting federal assistance to investigate mounting threats and crimes against educators and school officials.

The Justice Department also issued a statement saying it would launch efforts to address criminal conduct and would pursue strategies to assist with threats that wouldn’t be considered federal crimes.

Following the statements, an activist known for speaking out against critical race theory — a way of thinking about America’s history through the lens of racism — shared the erroneous claim that the FBI was specifically targeting public school parents who oppose such race education.

                  This is not the case.

Wyn Hornbuckle, the Justice Department’s deputy director of media affairs, told The Associated Press the claim was misleading and stated that the Attorney General’s guidance and the Justice Department’s efforts are focused on rooting out criminal threats of violence for any reason, not targeting a particular ideology.

“There has been misinformation circulated that the Attorney General’s directive is an effort to silence those with particular views about COVID-related policies, school curricula, or other topics of public discussion. This is simply not true,” Hornbuckle wrote in an email.
This is just DeathSantis taking a page out of the former president's playbook in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Same difference, but more accurate. I still agree with your sarcasm.

                      A distinction without a difference.
Did you read the September 29 letter (highlighted in your AP link) from the NBSA (Dem Cronies) sighting alleged CRT teachings by parents that NBSA denies is being taught?

If you put the Buildings lit on Fire in the background during nighttime darkness, and chaotic people running in the background, with the CNN journalist, saying “Mostly peaceful protests going on here” you can see where there are just perfectly legal, nonviolent protests going on and no terrorism involved.

Moms and dads upset, and heated up, but without weapons, in a perfectly lit BOE meeting room are obviously the terrorists.

                          No.

I know little about CRT or the "struggle". I'm just adding contrasting content for purposes of circle-jerk interruptus.

I do however know all about the tactics of politicians, propagandizers, and their pawns.

The problem with fact checking is that the claim is a straw man. The fact checkers should be checking the claim, “Is the FBI investigating people protesting at school board meetings?”

Additionally, why don’t they answer the claim that the FBI has no jurisdiction here even if there are crimes being committed?
