SCOTUS adds sexual orientation and gender identity to the list of protected classes.
Sexual orientation is said to be an inherent characteristic. No issue with that.
Gender identity is an ideology. This is similar to religious ideology, which is also protected. This doesn’t make a lot of since to me (in either case) as ideologies are not inherent.
What other ideologies should be protected? Political party affiliation?
