What does it mean? Small or meaningful?

It’s small, but we are seeing these pockets in multiple places. Although this isn’t about the European Union, EU leaders are hinting of a quiet coup. Things like increased taxes and immigration are causing populist movements, while the EU is flying options about a military.

Thousands of French police have deployed to contain the eighth day of deadly demonstrations that started as protests against tax but morphed into a rebuke of President Emmanuel Macron.

Citizens, even socialists can only be taxed so much... Even when it is in the most noblest pursuit of saving the planet.

France has been a mess for the last three centuries. Maybe this means something, maybe it doesn't. I just never look to France as a barometer for anything other than what not to do.

In general the protests have been non-violent except in Paris where the Frances antifa/anarchist have infiltrated the protest and instigated. It seems to the general discontent with socialism.

What the Frogs are doing to the middle-class with the fuel tax is absurd. This uprising however carries no teeth as the French practically outlawed weapons for citizens. Their only protection against Tyrannical rule would be firm blocks of Gouda and week-old baguettes.

PARIS (AP) — French President Emmanuel Macron visited the graffiti-damaged Arc de Triomphe monument and held an emergency meeting on security Sunday, a day after central Paris was hit by France's worst riot in a generation.

I think it’s the working class that is the group that is spending a big percentage of their budget on travel.
